      I called A1 to come out for a furnace cleaning and to look over my unit. I received a window between 12-2 Friday 3/11/2022. Please keep in mind, my furnace was functioning correctly, just needed it cleaned up because there was sunflower seeds in the unit. Two techs showed up after 2pm. One tech didn't turn off the right breaker and sparked himself. After checking over the unit and cleaning it, they told me that my blower motor was failing and needing to be replaced. Whether this is true or not, I still don't know. I feel like they sold me on a $745 motor that didn't need replaced. Once this was replaced, the techs left, I had to pick up my daughter. When I returned to my house, the fan would not shut off unless I tripped the breaker. The fan was pulling in cool air constantly and the heat source would not work currently. (I paid $1,058 for Friday) The tech returned back on Saturday, he told me that my control board had failed and the high limit switch needed to be replaced. He then jumped a burner heat limit safety switch (which should not have happened). -I called Monday around 9:30am because I didn't hear from anyone yet, they could only tell me they will get me a quote. I requested to speak with the owner. He wasn't much help, told me that he had confidence in his tech but could come out if I wanted. Later I got a quote from them for another $879 for replacing a control board and high limit switch. I did not reply and wanted to talk to someone else. - Wednesday, I contacted another company. They were extremely helpful! The two techs were at my house within 20 mins of my call. They looked over my unit and told me my control board is fine and showed me where the A1 tech jumped the safety switch they confirmed this was not something that should have been done. The new company found that when the blower motor was replaced, the original tech wired it incorrectly. The blower motor was wired to my AC unit, hence why the fan was pulling cool air. Problem was fixed!

      I contacted A-1 Heating and Cooling on a Friday 02/25 asking about a water heater replacement. I was told they could get me in on Sat. The technician was prompt arriving around 7am, was there for about 4.5 hours and did a good job on the install. We were originally told that the replacement would be around $2500. Which is extremely high however I assumed it was a Saturday price. I had to leave pretty quickly and my wife stayed and took care of the final payment. I get home that night and found out that not only was there no receipt but we were charged $2900, much more than original. I spoke with one of the owners at A-1 Heating and Cooling and I asked for an itemized receipt and was told I would have one within 24 hrs. I also asked if the price included a weekend rate higher charge and was told no, that is their standard rate. I expressed the frustration on the cost and the difference of original amount we were told and what we were charged, he expressed “well you know things and prices have increased”. It took additional call, text and almost a week to finally get a receipt. I was charged a service fee of $120 just to come out, then $164 for an expansion tank replacement, which is at most $60 retail, so there is another $104 in labor charges. 3rd line on invoice stating "re pipe rec. line into cold water feed" was another $225 charge, this consisted of about 24" inches of 1/2" copper piping. Water heater and install was another $2170. I reviewed the specific water heater that was installed and confirmed retail cost literally to my door is $1150 with free shipping and zero tax. **********************  Even if there is a total of $200 in misc. parts in addition to the water heater and expansion tank that would mean the labor for four and a half hours was $1540 approx. or $342 an hour! Not only is that an exorbitant amount it is still blatantly higher than originally amount discussed!

      The owner contacted me about the issue and he was apologetic about the miscommunication. He refunded a portion of the bill to make things right.
