On 10/31/2023 I signed an agreement with Victor Lawson to provide electrical services to a newly acquired 6 family property at *** ******** ******. The agreement was for victor to restore power to the building and to get the electrical up to code among other services promised. Mr Lawson restored the power in the building but he failed to get the building up to code which cost me over $22000 more than the $50492.81 I had already paid up out of an agreed $57492.81 to have the work completed. He failed to add surge suppressors to the panels, two panels were missing retaining clips, arc fault breakers were not added to all the panels, he did not add a new circuit in the kitchen and bathroom of one of the apartments, did not meet the code for the number of outlets in each room in each apartment, he left knob and tube wiring throughout the entire building even after several suggestions from this workers that the knob and tube wiring should be removed due to the fragility and that type of wiring not being up to code. His response was that nobody would know because most of the wiring was in the walls. One of his workers willingly approached me and provided me with this information due to him feeling that I was being taken advantage of. I have had to pay two electricians to finish the work of Mr. Lawson even though he received the majority of his requested fee.Customer response

The contractor under stated the cost to the city of Hartford severely. Since the project has been completed the city required an actual cost statement which cost me over $1500 I had to pay to the city due to this under quoted figure given by the contractor on his permit.Initial Complaint

Lawson Power needs to finish bathroom renovation started October 2022. Mostly completed and usable since December 27, 2022 when I paid the balance I owed. They have not returned to complete the following: fixing a leak in the water valve to toilet; caulking around the toilet; installing shower grab bars; installing toilet paper and towel racks; installing plates for electrical outlet and switches; and installing a door knob stop. They were supposed to come back to complete the job December 30, 2022. I have been calling and they will set up a time to come back however no one arrives or contacts me. I'm mostly satisfied with what they have completed, they just need to contact me and come back and finish the job.
