December 15, 2021 (pressured) I signed contract with Jhonny of J&J Rivera to replace 10 windows, 3 day project. On February 22, Jhonny and crew came took out windows to install new ones. I never had chance to review new windows prior to work. Once windows were out, Jhonny said he needed more material and left. He bought $1000 worth of material for framing told me I had to pay for it. I told him, “That seems too high and to put it on the invoice and I will only pay for what is reasonable and necessary to use on the installation.” I told him, “This does not make sense, why do you need to build extra if the window fits? Also, you said I would have to pay extra for rot not framing.” Jhonny came up with some technical excuse and all the windows were out already and he and I agreed to talk later because of expected rain. I continued my work in separate area. The crew worked from 10:45am to 2:15pm. Upon inspection of the installed windows, they were atrocious. There was no outside trim, so I have holes outside my house.The interior trim was split, and patched with caulk, Sheetrock was damaged need to be repaired, and all the rooms need to be repainted, windows have hand marks all over them, broken glass was left in son bedroom, driveway, landscaping and debris was everywhere beds, couches, printers etc. I asked Jhonny to fix these issues and he said “I would have to pay $45/hr to fix to him and his day laborers” which I found shocking (experience) Jhonny’s 2nd solution was to get new siding, roofing, and he would fix everything which I said those items are on my list but too expensive, but I would consider if he gave me a discount. However, realizing I was bullied and pressured I asked Jhonny “fix my windows and restore to previous condition”, he said not without $45hr to him/his crew. Receipt revealed he bought a saw and excess materials not my responsibility not used on my property. I was totally taken advantage of, ashamed and anxiety stricken. My house is damaged.
