Advertising Review
In September 2024, BBB contacted Face Candy Aesthetics regarding claims in its advertising.

Its website, Facebook page, and other online advertising include health benefit claims related to the treatments offered at the facility.  Below is a sample of some of the health benefit claims in its advertising.
"Can neurotoxin injections be used as a preventive treatment for wrinkles? Yes, some individuals opt for neurotoxin injections as a preventive measure to limit the formation of wrinkles in areas prone to dynamic movement, such as the forehead and around the eyes."
Immune Boost IV:  "Treats inflammations, asthma, migraines, high blood pressure, stress, promotes healthy hair and skin."
Youthful Glow IV: "Combination of Vitamin C and Glutathione. Promotes collagen production, and improves complexion."
-B12 injection: "Increases energy levels, improves metabolism and supports weight loss, helps anxiety and depression, slows down memory loss, strengthens immune system."
"One night I wasn’t feeling myself and was exhausted, so I decided to try the world famous Myers Cocktail IV, and boy it did not disappoint! It’s an assortment of vitamins and minerals (including all the B’s and C) which you receive higher nutrient concentrations of when administered through an IV. It helps with a range of conditions, including migraine headaches, allergies, anxiety, muscle spasms, colds and flu, and more. It also works to boost the body’s natural immune system!"
According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  For medicinal and therapeutic claims or claims to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any illness or disease, scientific clinical evidence from human clinical trials is preferred to support these claims.  Substantiation should involve human testing that is blinded, performed by an independent third party, placebo controlled, conducted on a sufficient scope of subjects, and ideally has been peer reviewed. Claims concerning overall uniquely formulated products also require testing on the combination of ingredients in the product.  Specific ingredient claims also require substantiation. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it substantiate, modify, or discontinue its claims.

Its website states "Who might benefit from IV Vitamin Drips? Individuals seeking a quick boost of energy, hydration, immune support, or relief from certain conditions like vitamin deficiencies, fatigue, jet lag, hangovers, or a weakened immune system may consider IV Vitamin Drips. However, individual responses vary."
The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. The business did not respond to BBB's suggestion that the statement "...individual responses vary" should be discontinued or modified to clearly and conspicuously disclose the typical experience a consumer can reasonably expect..

Its website and Facebook pages indicate that the facility offers masseter Botox. Its website states "For individuals with a prominent or overly developed masseter muscle, neurotoxin injections can be used to reduce the muscle size, creating a slimmer jawline or addressing issues related to teeth grinding (bruxism)." It appears that some products and treatments available at the facility are considered "Off-Label" or not cleared by the FDA.  The business did not respond to BBB's inquiry into whether clients are adequately informed that some treatments are not FDA approved or provide substantiation for the claim.

Its Facebook page states "Semaglutide, or what people have heard before under the brand name Ozempic or Wegovy, is a GLP-1 agonist that is FDA approved to treat type 2 diabetes and weight loss. We do not prescribe Semaglutide under the brand names but instead use a compounded Semaglutide."  The business did not respond to BBB when it inquired if clients are made aware of any risks involved and adequately informed that compounded forms of Semaglutide are not FDA approved.
