I brought my maid of honor dress to be brought in, hemmed and have the back of my bra covered with said hemming scraps. I had ordered the dress overly large to accomodate my chest, as I'm quite busty and theres no give in this fabric. I went to pick it up and was visibly upset to find not one strap to cover it as requested, but two to showcase it. I pointed this out and was questioned whether I had worn the bra to the fitting, and was told that wasn't what her notes said. As i said I am large in the chest, why would I request two straps that do not hide the bra? I was then told to just go braless, which is not an option for someone of my chest size. I took the dress, because I had to go meet the bride for her fitting elsewhere. The seamstresses at the other fitting, when told about the issues, asked to see the dress and were just as flabbergasted as I was about the issue. They also pointed out that I had a lot more room than I should in the waist. I have not lost any meaningful amount of weight. I was not offered or even asked if I wanted the scrap material from the dress. and when asked if I could have them she stated she did not have them. Yes I dropped it off in late February, and it is now May, that is my own doing as I did not want to have it at my home to get dog hair all in it, so I waited to pick it up close to the date trusting that it had been done right. I emailed about the problems and was given several "I did what I was asked to do, if you have fit issues now it is not my fault." No apologies not acknowledgement of being in the wrong until confronted with evidence that I had not asked for what I was given. I had to take it elsewhere to get it fixed properly. Poor customer service skills, and an inability to take responsibility for the issue she created.

In response to this review. The customer came in early February and the dress was done and the customer contacted withing two weeks to come back and try the dress on. She abandoned the dress at my shop for fourth months without any contact. The initial order was the hem and to make a strap in the back and tack the bust. Those itmes were done. Nothing about the taking in the dress was discussed at initial fitting. Had this customer come In a more timely manner any issues could have been very easily resolved. Instead she chose to wait. Because of the untimelyness I no longer had any scrap material left to offer her. Upon her trying on the dress again she said absolutely nothing about the fit and she herself suggested going braless. She paid and left without incident. This issue could have been easily resolved if the customer had come in when the dress was completed. My current policy has updated because of this issue. Any items not picked up within six weeks of competed work will be considered abandoned. It is upsetting that this happened and could have been easily avoided.
