I am writing to file a formal complaint against Artefacto, which I hired to purchase furniture for my home and for interior decorating services (Sales Order 130032/55). I also paid $10,000 for their expertise to recommend and procure furniture that would best suit my home. Relying on their professional judgment, we placed an order totaling $255,100.00 in August 2021, with an agreed delivery time of 10 to 12 weeks. We were assured that if any of the furniture did not meet our satisfaction, we could return it.As they required, we paid a deposit of $107,000.00. However, the delivery on September 7, 2022, was incomplete, with approximately 40% of the furniture missing. Additional furniture was delivered on January 12, 2023, but the order was still not complete. Also, several items were substituted without our authorization.Due to these issues, we placed a hold on our credit card payment, which Artefacto disputed, claiming they had shipped the products. Eventually, they agreed to issue a credit to our credit card after we refused to accept the unauthorized substitutions and demanded credit for undelivered items. I believe it is illegal to process payment before shipping the product, and although this payment was reversed, other significant issues remain unresolved. One major issue that persists involves 4 kitchen stools. Instead of the kitchen stools we ordered, they shipped bar stools. Artefacto claims we agreed to this substitution because it was listed on the Sales Order. As we are not furniture experts, we relied solely on their expertise for which we paid $10,000. We requested to return the bar stools in line with our original agreement, but they refused to accept the return. Instead, they offered to cut down the leg size of the stools but at an additional charge of $400 per stool, which we find unacceptable. We have made several attempts to resolve these matters directly with Artefacto, but their responses have been unsatisfactory.
