We bought a mini daschund puppy, the puppy was returned 2 weeks later to *************************. 11/18/2023 we got into a puppy contract and sent $1400 as a deposit for a puppy But also could have a pick from the mid December litter because we really wanted a female over a male. December 8th we were contacted stating they had a family emergency and the puppy needed to be picked up earlier than agreed upon date which was January 2nd. ***** was picked up December 15th December 14th the mid December litter were born and we were not informed. I reached out when I found out to ******* and ********************* on December 24th stating we werent happy we werent told about the mid December ****** being born and that it was stated in the contract we had first pick and being rushed to pick up the said puppy due to a family emergency. January 4th my 1 year old son started giving symptoms of being allergic. I reached out to ******* and ********************* and explained what was going on. They responded and said we could bring **** back and understood it wasnt a good fit for our family. We were also told now all females were actually spoken for from the mid December litter. I have in writing from AnchorTails Family Farm stating once **** was rehomed we would receive our refund of $1633 in full. In good faith we returned Ozzy for in return like stated our full refund. January 14th we reached out as we were told per our contract we would be notified throughout the whole rehoming process - we became blocked on all social media platforms and all communication was cut off by ******* and *********************. After doing research we found out through Sunbiz AnchorTails Family Farm LLC is inactive due to administrative dissolution for annual reports in September of 2023. They legally cant do contracts while being inactive due to administrative dissolution. They are still engaging in selling puppys and engaging in contracts. We would either like our money back like stated in the contract or the puppy back.Business response

On 11-18-23 this particular client placed a non-refundable deposit on a cream dachshund male puppy. She expressed interest in a female so we gave her the option to pick a puppy from our December litter when it was born, if their was a female of her liking. She could not afford the puppy's full price so she placed a deposit in the amount of $1400.00 and went on a 6 month payment plan for the remaining $1400.00 We also agreed to hold her puppy until January 2, 2024 while she went on vacation. This would have been an additional 3 weeks. On Saturday December 9, 2023 we received a call from my Step-father and my mom was in the hospital fighting for our life. We reached out to this client to see if she would be able to get her puppy after his 8 week appointment to receive his health certificate and she gladly agreed with no issue. December 15, 2023 was the day we agreed to meet to get her puppy. On that date prior to meeting she reached out and wanted to switch to another male from the same litter. We asked her in text if this was her FINAL decision and she said yes. We made a new contract and she signed it. The following day on December 16, 2023 the litter was born that she would've picked a female out of. However, since she switched puppies the day prior and said that it was her final decision we did not notify her of the December litter with females. She actually never signed the contract dated November 18, 2023 but did sign the new one on December 15, 2023 On January 3, 2024, 3 weeks after receiving her puppy and the day after returning from vacation, she reached out and said that her son was in the hospital because he was allergic to the dog and in hives. She wanted to either sell the puppy or return him to us and get her money back. She has paid a total of $1633.00. We reminded her that she signed a contract stating that her deposit was non-refundable and that if anything happened and she couldn't keep him that he has to be returned and no refund will be issued. However, given the circumstances we agreed to bend our policy and help her out. We agreed that she would return the puppy to us and ONCE he finds a home, she will get her money back. On January 4, 2024, she returned the puppy. On January 5, *************************************** the morning. The post simply stated that the puppy was looking for a forever lap to lay on because he had to be returned to us because the family's son was allergic. We did not use any names nor the dogs name. She immediately text saying she didn't appreciate how we put her son's personal information out there. We told her that we had to be transparent or people are going to think he was returned because of an issue with him. She understood and we changed the listing to say due to no fault of his own. On January 14, 2024 she reached out asking for an update on the rehoming process. We told her that we were having a hard time rehoming him because he was returned. People think there is something wrong with him. People are also wanting him at a discount because he is 12 weeks old now. We told her that we are having to invest more money in him with next vaccines and a new health certificate because his original one expired. She told us that was not her problem and that they would get their money back one was or another. She threatened us with legal action right away. Her husband text us with threats of legal action. She started then stalking our personal social media pages. The only reason I know that is because she liked something by accident on my ******** page. Unfortunately the notification disappeared before I could screenshot it. Once we were threatened with legal action and she began stalking our personal social media accounts, she was blocked on all platforms. The only thing that has not been blocked is there phone number. We have had no more communication with them since 1-14-24. Her husband sent a letter via ***** threatening legal action and she was complained to the better business bureau. The puppy is still in my home which is why she has not gotten her money back yet. And now with the threats of legal action we are not sure if we can even sell the puppy right now. The puppy went home with a health certificate and clear for everything. When we took the puppy back to get his next round of vaccines and a new health certificate, the puppy had hookworms and couldn't get a new health certificate to prepare for resale.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
We are not trying to pursue legal action unless this isnt taken care of through mediation. I have made attempts to talk like adults and like a business should do before it gets to a civil action. We dont want to do that and are hoping we can find a solution to this.
Im sure you as a business - need and want this to be done and over with. I would like to know how we can get this settled and both go our own ways and put this behind us.
Take off the vet bills and Refund us that portion.Sincerely,
