You should be disgusted by the way you scam people. I was told I was renewing my ********** not signing up for a new plan. The sales representative informed me that I would be charged a one time RE-ENROLLMENT fee of ****** and that I would be reimbursed within a month. I paid that amount on September 23rd. I called on October 22nd, after I found out that I was scammed, and was told thatd I be receiving a refund - I was then put on hold until I was hung up on. I called back and was instructed to call again the following day. The extremely rude customer service ********** from *****, said that I was signed up on September 21st and therefore could not be refunded. Both my call log and my bank account show September 23rd as when this transaction took place. Since all of these calls have been recorded, you can guarantee that my family and I will be taking legal action against your company unless I receive my refund.Business response

Innovative Partners has thoroughly reviewed the Partners concerns and understands the frustration regarding the enrollment process. The Partner incorrectly states that Innovative Partners represents as another entity. Innovative Partners operates no websites for marketing or lead generation and does not solicit or contact Partners whatsoever. When a Partner makes an online search, they typically find third-party marketing or lead generation companies that offer various products. Innovative Partners has no affiliation with these companies and does not operate any marketing websites.
Unfortunately, we are not privy to the customer's conversation with the marketing/lead company they spoke with, the enrolling company or the individual they spoke with at the time of enrollment. The Partner enrolled in an Innovative Partners Health Benefit Plan a full summary of the plans details was provided before and after enrollment, and this information remains accessible via the Member Portal. Furthermore Innovative Partners does not have any customer service agents in ***** and cancellations are handled by our customer service team at our corporate office, as such we believe the Partner may not have contacted the correct customer service number regarding this Plan. Regardless, for avoidance of doubt, the policy has been canceled as requested and a full refund issued, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:Appreciate the refund - however, I called the customer service number that is on the card. So no, I did not call the incorrect number. And yes, whoever I spoke with while enrolling in your plan did lie to me and tell me that I was renewing my ******** plan. Just to be clear.

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Innovative Partners regarding their deceptive practices in offering health insurance. On July 1, 2024, I was contacted by Innovative Partners, who claimed they could provide me with affordable health care coverage through ***** at a monthly rate of $192.90. During this conversation, I paid $242.90 for enrollment.Innovative Partners assured me that I would receive all the necessary information, including insurance cards, an insurance booklet, and a discount card. However, I only received a card that explicitly stated, For identification purposes only. Not a guarantee of coverage or payment. It has become clear that the company misrepresented the nature of the service, and I did not receive legitimate health insurance coverage as promised.I am seeking a full refund of $435.80, which includes the enrollment fee of $242.90 and the first months payment of $192.90. I feel that Innovative Partners engaged in fraudulent activity by misleading me about the nature of their service and failing to deliver what was agreed upon.I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter and ensuring that companies like Innovative Partners are held accountable for their deceptive practices.Thank you for your time and consideration.Sincerely,******** ******Business response

Innovative Partners has thoroughly reviewed the Partners concerns however the the Partner was indeed provided the coverage stated. The Partner was provided with an ID card that contains standard disclaimer language that the Partner would find with any health insurance carrier as coverage/payment are dependent on the claims filed by the Partner and the plan coverage at the time the claim is made. The Partner in this instance received exactly what they are alleging their were promised. That being said, we are not privy to the customer's conversation with the marketing/lead company they spoke with, the enrolling company or the individual they spoke with at the time of enrollment. 1) Their phone number was posted online as a ********** Blue Shield number.2) They claimed to be associated with **** and they were not.3) They told me if I signed up for their supplemental indemnification program, they would be off the remaining balance owed to my provider on previous claims associated with a specific diagnosis. I found out a month later that was a lie.4) Prior to make the second of the 2 payments I was told I needed to make in order for them to cover these claims, I called **** to ask how quickly the balance would be paid. They had no idea who Innovative Partners was and had no record for this secondary coverage.5) I called Innovative Partners and asked them about the plan. I was advised previous claims could not be covered and that this was a secondary plan covering 80% on future claims. 6) I escalated to a manager who told me that he was from the claims processor and that I needed to speak with the enrollment company. He then blamed me for getting scammed telling me I should have researched that company before I signed up.7) I was then escalated to the enrollment company who told me that they would have the phone call pulled but it would have to wait until the manager returned and the manager was out of the office.Initial Complaint

Upon sign up I went through a very detailed list of thing I needed covered due to my chronic illness. I was assured all my medications would be covered and could have a max copay of 20 for very expensive medications. This is now being told to be untrue.they don't cover anything they say they have a discount card. I was also told after paying the 2 large sums I would nothave monthly payments for the year. Again not true ad they keep trying to charge my card almost 300. I asked a manager to call back after reviewing the recording of my signing up as it states it's all recorded and I go no call back at all. Called to finally just cancel and they won't refund anything even though I didn't get one medication over the 2 months I had them. They took my money after lying to me and making promises and now won't hold to those promises.Business response

The amount of money they took out of my account was nothing like they said it would be, and when I seen how much they took I called and was put on hold for 45 minutes then they hung up on me.the second day I called they kept me on hold for 75 minutes,then said we will have to call you back and they never did.the third time I called they said they would cancel and I got an email saying it will be cancelled a month away so I called them a fourth time and they sent me an email saying it was cancelled but I still haven't received my refundBusiness response

On October 3rd, 2024 I was calling Covered California to update the amount of income we had projected for 2024. The person answering pretended to be from Coveved California and verified my info. I asked him if this change of income for this year would affect my coverage or if I would have to back pay anything. He put me on hold to ask his supervisor, when returning he said yes. That I had to pay $589 for 4 months then I would pay the regular amount in 2025 since my income will change again. Sounded totally legit. I said ok. They took the $ out of my account. Told me i didnt have to do anything else and that my coverage with Covered California would automatically renew. Well, today ***** I received a letter from Innovative Partners with 2 cards. I was like, what is this? I googled it and sure enough found all sorts of scam comments. I immediately tried to call them with no luck. I decided to call Covered **********, a different telephone number. They had not received any update from me they said. I went ahead and updated with them. They said Innovative Partners are not affiliated with them. I got off the phone, called my bank, cancelled my card, emailed Innovative Partners at the email they provided in the letter and told them to CANCEL whatever plan they put me in. I want a refund. This is just awful how they impersonated Covered **********. Totally took advantage and enrolled me in something I never wanted. In the letter it states they will refund if canceled within 30 days. Unauthorized charge of $359.96. I was told I had to make 2 payments and those have been made. Then they charged my credit card for $359.96 on the next month after I had already paid the full amount due. Plus I'm very concerned that this company may be a scam because none of my providers have heard of this insurance and of course are not accepting it and able to bill them. Signed up with Innovative Partners less than 60 days ago. The sales *** claimed to be insurance company that provides both generic and name brand meds. Charge me a premium and then stated all paperwork plus insurance will be sent out within 7-10 business day. Not only did I not get the insurance card but when I called them 30 days later, they apologies and claims they will send again. During that call I was told they are not a full insurance company and that prescription drugs are not covered and to call one of their RX partners to pay more to get that coverage. While waiting for the partner to call back, another 30 day passed at that point I became very suspicious of this company. Called to cancel, they gave me the run around with phone tag and finally when answered a lady named ***** from their "compliance department" claimed I was out of the 30 day cancellation window as per their terms. They will try to make it right by attempting to say whatever you wish to hear to keep collecting premiums. This is a classic fraud where they string you along, don't send you any paperwork or cards and should be shut down. So now I am out of two months of premiums with no claims, no benefits provided and not even paperwork or insurance cards sent. DO NOT ever deal or trust your health insurance needs to a Innovative Partners, LP ever. They will scam you out of your money and provide nothing not even paperwork or insurance card.Business response

Innovative Partners takes Partner complaints and concerns seriously. Unfortunately it seems that the Partner is misinformed about plan benefits and details or did not review any of the plan details made available to the ************ enrollment. This particular Partner enrolled in Innovative Partners Health Benefit Plan. This is a limited medical health benefit plan sponsored by Innovative Partners, LP. Please keep in mind that this Plan is not designed to be a major medical policy/plan nor is it designed to replace a major medical policy and has certain limitations and exclusions. The plan provides for network benefits and discounts including prescription discount benefits. In regards to prescriptions please note that not all prescriptions will be covered fully as with any benefit plan. A full summary of plan benefits was provided to the Partner before, and after enrollment and is permanently available to the Partner through the Partner Portal. This document provides a detailed schedule of hospital and medical benefits, network information, claim information and much more. For avoidance of doubt the BBB and Partner have been provided with a copy of the exact medical benefits document that was provided to the Partner.
While it is regrettable that the Partner faced any difficulty utilizing the plan, there was no information withheld and all details were provided to the Partner immediately before and after enrollment. Unfortunately, we are not privy to the customer's conversation with the marketing/lead company they spoke with, the enrolling company or the individual they spoke with at the time of enrollment. I responded to a marketing message regarding finding a healthcare plan in the event my ******** had expired. When I spoke to Innovative Partner's sales agent, I immediately asked him to check the system to verify whether my ******** plan had expired or if it was still active before moving forward. He apparently pretended to check the system and then came back to the line saying, No I did not currently have ******** and did not qualify for it, so he then got me booked into one of their plans. Unfortunately for me, That was a lie. I got a call 45 days later, this past Friday, FROM ACTUAL ******** checking in w me to make sure my contact details were still up to date and that my coverage was still valid until April 2025!?! When I just now called Innovative, the crass agent EVE #x6102 snidely remarked that the cutoff for refunds is 30 days no matter what my situation was. When I said what your agent did was effectively wire fraud and I will be seeking legal remedies, she said something to the effect of "Well, I guess you've got to do what you've got to do, but we aren't refunding your account." This is predatory behavior against people who can least afford to be robbed, and had I been smarter, I would have checked their BBB rating prior to booking. But since I got their number from a **** website, I mistakenly assumed they would operate legitimately and honestly. To avoid invasive legal action, I would simply like my account canceled and my $329.98 refunded immediately.Business response

At the beginning of this October I was looking for a better medical insurance plan. A man from Innovative Partners called me. He said he had a good plan and needed to check if I was eligible. For this he wanted my credit number. I did not give him permission to charge anything. He did in fact charge $954.09 and enroll me in a multi plan that I do not want to be in. I have had trouble getting ahold of anyone at that company. I believe the plan will start next month. I have already paid for it and do not want it.Business response
