I was contracted to move 10k lbs of product at a price of 700 and 300 to assist unloading the product when I arrived at the warehouse I waited 2 hours and it was 20 pallets at **** per pallet. I moved 10 pallets and was only paid 500 dollars.

As a professional freight broker, we facilitate efficient and effective shipping operations by connecting shippers with suitable drivers. Our business model involves charging both parties and earning a profit margin on the difference. On February 9th, 2023, we received a request from a shipper to transport ****** pounds of rice using two box trucks. We utilized various platforms, including ********* to solicit interested parties and eventually connected with *********************************** who claimed to have two box trucks available for the job. After reaching an agreement on a rate of $700 for both trucks ($350 per truck), we sent her two rate confirmations (Load #***** and *****) for her review. However, after conducting a thorough review on the rate confirmation, ****************** reached out to us in a state of frustration, claiming that the load was not ****** pounds, and that she would need an additional $300 to cover the costs of a helper. We promptly communicated with the shipper to rectify the situation and negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement.

To our surprise, the shipper informed us that ****************** only brought one truck instead of two, as previously agreed upon. Upon verifying the situation with ******************, we were informed that she had indeed sent one truck on the road without prior notification. We made several attempts to resolve the matter and keep ****************** on the job, but she made a direct request to the shipper to be paid directly for $1,000, which is a betrayal of trust in the industry.
Consequently, we had to remove ****************** from the load due to the shipper's request and seek alternative options to complete the shipment. Despite the receiver failing to sign the rate confirmation, a standard practice in the logistics industry, we processed payment for Load #***** in the amount of $500 ($350 for truck # ****** and an additional $150 for the helper she claimed she had) through Zelle.

It is important to note that Haul it Forward never entered into an agreement of $1,000 with ******************. Our agreement was based on the rate confirmation of $350 per truck, and she was fairly compensated for the one truck that she provided.

I am rejecting this response because: please see attached rate cons which clearly states 5k lbs of merchandise. We moved at total of 25lbs which was more then requested by 2 trucks which was confirmed by shipper. I did not request anything from the shipper the shipper reached out to me as broker had no information regarding the load. ****** did agree to pay additional 150 per load that had to be unloaded by the driver. It seems as though this broker was deceptive from initial contact as he knew each pallet was more then ****lbs and it wouldn't take multiple trips he was not willing to pay for.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

As our drivers play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of our operations, it is of utmost importance that we uphold the values of transparency and honesty. The information that was presented on the rate con was sourced from the shipper, as indicated by the attach files . Upon reaching out to ******************, she verbally confirmed that she directly contacted the shipper to obtain the information, citing delays in my response time. However, it remains unclear as to why she has since altered her statement.

To reiterate, Haul it Forward entered into a contractual agreement for the provision of two trucks, a specific quantity that was requested by the shipper to accommodate the extensive work involved in transporting the loads. Despite being aware of this requirement, ****************** arrived with only one truck, a move that prompted the shipper to express dissatisfaction with her performance and request that we seek out a more capable alternative. As such, it is my belief that ****************** acted deceptively by failing to fulfill the agreed-upon terms of the contract.

It is noteworthy that the shipper had to resort to the services of another trucking company after we were unable to secure an additional truck to complete the job. The shipper specifically requested two box trucks or a 53-feet dry van afterwards, so it is unlikely that ****************** carried the reported number of bags that she claimed. Despite her deceptive actions, we endeavored to exercise reasonableness and agreed to pay an additional $150 above the initially agreed-upon amount which was $350 since she claimed to have assistance. However, it is not feasible to compensate ***************** for two trucks when she only provided one without prior notice to us.

      Complaint: 19386193

I am rejecting this response because:Please see attached text message from shipper stating everything that was agreed upon was delivered. I would also like to add additional contact was needed between myself and the shipper because broker did not have basic information such as correct address as you can see on the rate con two different addresses. I would also like to state the reason two trucks were not there because I waited 2 hours because broker did not know what time warehouse opened and other truck had a route to complete. Thirdly rate con says 10k lbs that is only 4 pallets because each pallet contacted 50 bags of rice at 50lbs each again something that was mis represented on the rate con. Either this broker purposely decived me to get a cheaper rate for a 26ft box truck versus a 53 fr dry van or he is not very knowledgeable and should not consider himself a freight broker either way I should not have to suffer the consequence for his lack of knowledge. I would also like to state I have the phone conversations between myself l, the shipper, and broker regarding this matter so broker should stop being deceptive stating I did not deliver 10 pallets. I did everything the rate con states and over but did not get compensated.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************
