I hired Quality Marine Upholstery Inc. to reupholster the seating in my Hurricane deck boat in January of 2021. I was placed on the schedule for March 2021. It was supposed to take 2 weeks. It ended up taking over 2 months to get the boat seating reupholstered. However, the captains chairs were not finished and I was told that they would take a little bit longer to get in and reupholstered. The owner agreed to reupholster one existing chair and purchase an additional to custom upholster in the fabric matching the rest of the boat. It is now almost January 2022. I paid in full but she has not delivered the captains chairs. She has my chair and claims that the chair she ordered for me, but needs to upholster both to match the boat. I have been told "two more weeks" since July 2022. At this point, the owner will not answer my calls or emails. She will not provide an explanation for the delay. If she was telling the truth that she does, in fact, have the new chair in her possession, this is not a supply chain issue. She told me in March 2022 that she was purchasing all of the fabric in one lot (for the upholstery and the two captain's chairs), so that should be in her possession as well. At this point- I would like either (1) the captains chairs reupholstered and installed in my boat, as contracted for or (2) return of my captain's chair and return of the money to purchase another chair and pay for the reupholster and installation of both. She has my money, my property and will not provide the promised work. That is fraud and theft. Given the pandemic, I have tried to be patient but this has gone on far too long without resolution. The fact that she has stopped communicating indicates to me that she has no intention of providing the sears or returning my money.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/29) */ I have the seats and they are in process. I have been short on help due to them being quarantined. We have been overwhelmed with our workload and I have been working 13 hours a day 6 days a week, trying to catch up with every job in process. They are on my schedule to be done the first week of January. There have been some unusual circumstances that we have had to deal with this year and has caused this delay. I have not avoided his calls as he has said that he tried to call but I have not received any calls from him. I have answered his e- mails explaining where we are at on the seats. We are closed until January 3rd 2022, and his seats are first on the schedule to be done then. He should have them by the 7th. Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2021/12/31) */ Mr ****** has received his seats today December 31, 2021. And as he stated he had paid in full which is not accurate. He had not paid for the Port seat, only paid for the Starboard seat. We did not charge him for the Port Seat which is a $500. Value. He also received free installation that is also an extra charge. We removed the base from his old seat he had in the boat and installed it on his new seat for him and installed the seats in his boat at no charge to him. So he has received a $ 800 value for free. Please close this case as no further action is required. Although we are not members of this BBB and are not required in any way to do so. Thank you!
