WORST COMPANY EVER! THEY ARE THEIFS! I purchased the 3 visit vaccination package for cat and on my second visit was told they did not have the feline leukemia vaccine. I was told by the VETCO employees on site to schedule my visit and hopefully the vaccination would be in by then.. Next appointment comes and still no vaccine available. Customer service is denying me a refund stating I have 1 more month to try and find a location that carries the vaccination. EXCUSE ME? Not to mention he has missed both feline leukemia vaccinations at this point. All locations should carry it if they sell it! I made the appropriate appointments and they failed to have the product on hand. How is that my fault?! Please do not take your precious fur babies to these scam artists! I wish I had done more research before giving them a dime!

What a nightmare. Usually go to my Vet, but wanted to try Vetco for my dogs rabies vaccines due to price and location. I went to the Vetco (Petco) on Westport Ave. Norwalk, CT.’ My appointment was scheduled for 11:05 and I was told to get there by 10:55 which I did. When I arrived there were 4 kother families with their dogs before me and I had to wait on line for over a 1/2 hour standing holding my dog. It was hot and I was getting so sick from the heat and standing that I almost fainted. I finally had to leave. It was so hot that the woman signing everyone in had to have a little fan clipped to her podium/stand. On top of this, there was a filthy scale to weight all of the dogs. No cleaning in between. No hygienic practices. When I left there were still families waiting to be seen. The vaccines hadn't even started being administered yet and this was at 11:27 am. I gave Vetco a shot but after needing to leave due to unorganized and exceedingly long wait time, on top of nausea from the heat and worrying about cleanliness for my girl, I won't be going back again. What a waste of a Saturday morning. Very disappointed.

Thank you. I also forgot to mention that an email was sent to me to fill out all of the info for my dog, but it didnt work. I filled out the info and once submitted, it responded that the submission failed. I tried using a different browser, and the same: So I had to wait to get there to update the info. I dont know if this was one of the issues that caused the back up of families? In the future I would just have people wait in their cars with their pets and text them once its their turn. Or find another way. Its also dangerous having so many dogs in line when some are young and misbehaved. I wasnt the only person who had to hold my dog.

We have benefited from vet visits (vaccine/heartworm testing) at petco in ** for 12 years, but perhaps things are changing. Made a same day online appt. for a test, received the appt. confirmation text message, and upon arriving on time at the location, the petco worker said the vet left the store because they thought there were "no more appts. that day," even though online there were slots all afternoon...don't they stay to end of day regardless? The worker at petco saw my appt. confirmation, asked his managers who told him to tell ME to call vetco customer service (resulting in a waste of time). After making a few more calls I was told a supervisor would call me, nothing. Called several days later and was connected to ******, who was courteous but could not give me a corporate contact to share concerns with. Pet owners seem stuck with having to deal with exhorbitant costs at private clinics or lower costs with large companies where faithful care may be compromised.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I took my 8.9 year-old cat to the vet in Avondale, and the office Mgr lied to my face! They have no heart! NO conscience about how they treat people! It's the worst vet experience! First, they mislead about the prices. I scheduled my appt online and the prices were very misleading. When I scheduled her appt, the price quoted for rabies vaccinations was $35 w/ no vet visit fee. When I got there, they tell me that it's $61 for the rabies and $69 for the office visit. I felt like their website was designed to mislead people, but at that point, I agreed to proceed. While I was waiting for Chloe' (my cat), I asked the lady at the front desk why the vaccine was twice as much, and she said that it's because the vaccines give the animals cancer, and that specific one lowers the risk. WHAT!?! The vaccine causes cancer? I didn't know that! That's when I realized that was the cancer my dog died from. It was caused by the vaccines. So, I started panicking inside. I'm essentially paying these people to murder my cat. I couldn't believe it! At that point, it was too late, they had Chloe in the treatment room. They DO NOT COMMUNICATE that specific information during the visit! In addition to that, when I read the invoice, it told me to bring my cat back in 12 months for another vaccine. Another thing they DO NOT COMMUNICATE! You mean to tell me that you intentionally set me up to force me to bring my cat back in for a shot that YOU KNOW will cause cancer!?! I called back to ask them why I had to bring her back in one year, and while I was on the phone, of course I was upset, because of all that I just learned, and the so called "office manager" lied to me about what she said. I said, just admit that you did not communicate that to me, and she wouldn't. She had no understanding about my feelings, she just hung up! Those people DO NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR PETS. They admittingly give our pets vaccines that cause cancer!

My dog had two rabies shots at the Petco clinic in Newport Rhode Island and microchip was scanned but not recorded on the certificate. I called customer service who added microchip number ( incorrectly )… and now i have left the country and because of the mistake my dog has to start it’s quarantine process again ! I called vetco customer service from overseas to explain the situation and that they needed to remove the extra 0 they added and they said they can’t do it .. even though they added the incorrect microchip number to begin with !!! They told me my only resolution would be to fly back to the states to see a vet at the clinic to update the microchip number …. I asked for a supervisor “ Sherri “ who refused to give me her ID number said she was the only one i could speak with and refused to give me a manager or even an email address . I explained i have legal documentation from and USD certified vet with the correct microchip number and she kept saying there’s nothing they could do , so because of a mistake customer service made , my dog has to start quarantine all over again . unexceptable!!! I know that there is someone in this company that has the authority to make changes but they would rather not help In anyway . This is no way to treat military families getting moved over seas .

It appears I am going to have to euthanize my cat because of Vetco vaccine clinic vet's spurious practices. She apparently has a FISS sarcoma (tumor) that has already cost me $400 just for the first diagnostic tests, which seem positive....all because I tried to do the right thing for my pet and the vets said that she should have a rabies shot even though she spends minimal time outdoors around no other animals. My cat is 7 1/2 years old and I have taken her to the VETCO vaccine clinics 3 times. At each visit she was assessed "healthy" and recorded as having had a wellness exam. At none of the visits was a tumor discussed with me nor was I told there was written information on the cash register receipt. Now I notice that on the 2019 and 2020 receipts, there are comments recommending PurevaxA (which they don't use) for rabies (which I don't think she needed anyway) and discussed vac. related tumor. NO ONE ever discussed tumors with me or using a different vaccine. However every time at Petco clinic, she was vaxxed in the SAME spot every time with a vaccine that has apparently now caused a cancerous tumor and is known to do so in some cats. They HAD her records but didn't look at their own notes, why did they keep giving her the rabies shot without warning me verbally ? Notes reflect nothing communicated Now the vet wants to do a biopsy but prognosis for survival is not good even with amputation, and the biopsy and operations are very expensive. Tumor excision has not proved to be very successful. VETCO has basically killed my cat through their negligence. NO notes on a tumor for her last visit 6 months ago or any other health concerns, just "thanks for trusting us with your pet's healthcare needs."I am devastated.

I've taken my dog for vaccinations at a Vetco vaccination clinic in the past and had a decent experience. My expectations are realistic - I realize this is mainly a vaccination clinic, and any major questions or concerns should be saved for a non-vaccination clinic appt or my regular vet. My most recent experience was SO negative that I don' t ever plan to use a Vetco clinic again. The veterinarian, Dr. Michael ******* (Chicago), was so rude and wouldn't answer basic questions. He and the tech manhandled my dog, who was already terrified bc they couldn't seem to draw blood out of the first leg and forced her down to access her back leg. They didn't have any treats, offered no positive reinforcement, and the vet's only statement was that was my dog was "too fat." His bedside manner was terrible, and the tech offered no additional support (not even when I asked why they didn't have treats or if I needed to go buy some). I realize dogs are already stressed when they're in a new environment, so I don't expect my dog to act relaxed, but they made the situation ten times worse, and I left really shocked and frustrated. I almost never leave reviews, but I felt like I needed to post one because this vet's behavior and demeanor were unacceptable. It's clear that Vetco contracts vets only to bring in income and are not "vetting" their disposition or ability to have basic etiquette with clients and patients. It's a money-making operation, and that's all. Although my regular vet is way more expensive, I will be returning to her clinic even for routine services like vaccinations since I don't want to subject my dog (or myself!) to that kind of experience again.

Friday I tried to purchase my dog’s monthly heart worm flea and tick prevention and was denied it at first due to the excuse “he doesn’t have a prescription showing the amount he can get for the future”. Keep in mind my dog has an unexpired NEGATIVE heart worm test, and I have been buying his Simparica (hw flea and tick prev) monthly since vetco has made it too expensive to buy in bulk, but I still get a discount there so monthly it’s less than anywhere else. I had brought my dog to be seen in person roughly four months ago and was given a clean bill of health. Now! That being said the reasoning for denying the prevention was because and I quote “I have not seen your pet before”. These are mobile clinics, and as a former employee with vetco I know that there is a different doctor almost every time, and we have online records so that any doctor can access them to avoid these situations. I mentioned that to him and explained that also they couldn’t give me a written prescription due to the fact that our system only allows us 1 month , 6 month, or 12 month prescription options. Considering I had switched my pets heartgard for simparica (a better option) I did not fit into any of those options except 1 month prescription at a time. Again I explained this to the doctor and was still denied the medication for no other reason than the Dr. conscious. If this is an issue for that specific Dr. he does not need to be working mobile clinics. He slowly got more irritated as I questioned him as to why he would not provide a service considering it was at no fault to me or my pet and we were punished for it. **** His answer was “bring your pet next time”. ***** Unacceptable and unprofessional. This is why vetco clinics are going down the drain along with Petco.

Thank you for taking the time to provide honest feedback on your recent visit. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. We apologize for any misunderstanding however, the pet must be present to purchase preventive product in clinic or to have a new prescription written. The pet parent is also able to order the prescribed preventive product from VetSource online or any 3rd party pharmacy such as Chewy or PetMeds. I wish I had read these reviews before I took my dog for her shots. Last year when my ******* was 10 I took her to our local Petco for vaccinations. All went well. She was 10yo. This Dec I took her for her shots and now 11 years old. I knew there were packages and since she needed all her shots I expected it would be. package though I did not reply know the prices at the time. After all the paperwork was done they informed me that they would not be giving her the distemper because she was a small senior dog. The reason they told me was it may not be as effective given all at once and her age. She was still a senior dog last year. Anyways, the bill was $155.00. I asked how much was the distemper shot and was told to bring her back in 2 weeks and the cost would be $42.00. After getting home and looking over my paperwork I realized I was charged all Ala cart prices. I asked for all shots. They were the ones to make the decision not to give her the distemper. Now a month later when I bring her back yesterday they hand me a bill for $59.00. I asked what happened to $42.00? Og our prices went up. Really, that's a BIG increase. I can see maybe $5.00 but $17.00 for one shot? So instead of paying the $139.00 advertised price for all her shots I ended up paying $215.00. This time the reason given for not giving her all the shots was, "if she crashes we have no way to bring her back. We are a traveling vet service. " OK, that is enough for me. I will not be back!
