Deceptive and misleading practices. Strategically delays drafting a contract or signed paperwork with outlines of work order (to prevent evidence). Holding of client financial information without further communication or follow through of agreement. **** and malicious verbal attack against a female client. Refuses to answer phone or return money. Habitual and repeated offender according to multiple contemporary online reviews.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me regarding return of my monies. After I threatened legal action! HOWEVER, this business DOES NOT deserve an A+ rating.

I called Whites to come to my home and clean out my septic tank. On 2.11.22 they came out dug a hole removed the lid and 1st commented because we had a Crack in the lid. He said that can happen from mowing over it. Its about a ft or better down. Then while draining it he says are tank is leaning sidewards and drainfields aren't working correctly and our system could actually fall into the ground. We asked how long it could last. He said a day a month or just have a big hole in your front yard 1 morning. He basically scared us. So we asked for estimates and we had called Brooks for an estimate telling them our size of tank and then Whites came back out with an estimate. We used Whites since they were the ones who actually visibly looked in the ground and gave their professional opinion of the situation. So we gave a 500.00 deposit. He said it would be 14 to 16 weeks. This was on 2.16.22. Needless to say our system has been running fine. We had decided since now having to apply for a home equity loan yo pay out 7500.00 for this and nothing fell through like he said we are going to pay another septic company to come out and give us a full inspection of our tank and drainfields once they also drain our tank. Now it cost me another 375.00 to John's by John's on 5.10.22. They said our system is in good condition. Nothing wrong with septic tank or drainfields and nothing needs to be replaced. The company knew nothing of Whites saying we needed a replacement. I have the new inspection in writing all is fine by a 17 year inspector! I called Whites twice. Been told Jason will call me back. In 72 hours no call back. Ignoring me. I'm out a total of 875.00. I mainly want the 500.00 they owe me! I never would have given them a deposit on a system that doesn't need replacement!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/05/31) */ This response was taken verbally by BBB: The customer paid a down payment. We had her scheduled and she cancelled the job. The down payment is used to pull the permit which was applied for and issued. The customer is not due a refund. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/05/31) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I gave them a deposit with the assumption my system wasn't working properly. Decided to have a 2nd opinion that cost us an additional 375.00 to find out are system is in good condition and doesn't need replacing. A 2nd opinion involves redigging in your yard and inspection of the system. Its not an inexpensive 2nd opinion to have done. So of course I would back out at this point. They shouldn't scare customers (seniors 65 plus) into such a scam. Then we wouldn't have given a deposit or would they have had to order a permit for septic system not needed. I want a full refund.
