An employee of Strong Group Public Adjusters was found on 4/13/22 driving onto our property (uninvited) and was filmed on video marking, lifting and creasing shingles on our roof. We had never contacted them or provided permission for them to access our roof and they admitted it was their mistake being at our home. On 4/14/22 and 4/15/22, two roofing companies assessed the roof damage caused by lifting and creasing shingles on several areas of the roof. Their professional recommendations were that a new roof would be necessary because if we replaced only the damaged shingles, they would not match the existing shingles age and color (A property inspection was performed at our home when it was purchased in 2021 - the remaining roof life was estimated at 10-12 years). Strong Group Public Adjusters have damaged our roof in numerous areas and have not contacted us during the last five months to try and remedy the situation. They have merely directed us to their attorney and have been unwilling to replace the roof necessitated by their employee's actions. We are being forced to pay out of pocket for a new roof to protect our home during hurricane season and risk of further damage while Strong Group Public Adjusters waits idly by.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/22) */ Please accept this as Strong Group Public Adjusters' ("Strong Group") response to the Complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau on 09/14/2022. Strong Group utilizes the services of an estimator who inspects, assesses, and estimates roof damage. On 04/13/22, the estimator was sent out to inspect and assess a roofing system for a client. Late that day, we were made aware of a situation where the estimator had begun to inspect a neighboring roofing system. The principals of Strong Group immediately went to the property to assess the situation. Strong Group has been actively discussing the situation with the attorneys hired by the complainants who brought this complaint. Strong Group, by Florida Law, is no longer allowed to communicate directly with the complainants. They have hired legal counsel who is now representing them. Strong Group has made settlement offers to resolve the issue and has offered to send out licensed roofers to inspect and offer possible solutions. However, the complainants have neither accepted an offer, submitted a counteroffer, or allowed an inspection of the alleged damaged roofing system. Strong Group does not admit of any wrongdoing that would have caused damage to a roof. Our inspectors assess and estimate wind damage. However Strong Group has attempted to resolve this situation, with no substantive response form the complainant. Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/10/04) */ ***Document Attached*** Strong Group's BBB response notes that the estimator they utilized on the day of the incident was sent out to inspect and assess a roofing system for a client but instead had begun to inspect a neighboring roofing system (mistakenly our roof). The owner of the home Strong Group Public Adjusters told police they should have been inspecting this day,*********************************** told police she and her husband knew nothing about Strong Group Public Adjusters and did not have any type of inspection scheduled at their home on 4/13/22. It appears that Strong Group Public Adjusters made yet another mistake regarding the home they were supposed to be inspecting that day. Strong Group Public Adjusters did not immediately come out to assess the situation regarding damage to our roof as they stated in their response. The owners of Strong Group Public Adjusters were notified of the situation around 1:30pm and did not arrive to our home until after 4:00pm. The owners of Strong Group Public Adjusters advised, once they arrived, that we would need to contact their attorney to address the situation - making no effort to resolve this outside of the judicial system. Strong Group Public Adjusters have made one offer (not offers) to us and have made no effort to reach a reasonable replacement option of our roof despite us being open to less expensive roofing companies for replacement options. In Strong Group Public Adjusters' response, they state we have not allowed an inspection of the "alleged damaged roofing system." This is not true. We promptly had two independent roofing companies provide their opinions upon inspection of our roof within two days of the incident on 4/13/22. Both roofing companies opined that a new roof is needed otherwise the replaced damaged shingles would not match the existing shingles in color or age. We have yet to receive a serious offer to resolve or remedy the situation from Strong Group Public Adjusters or their attorney. Also in the response, Strong Group Public Adjusters states it "does not admit of any wrongdoing that would have caused damage to a roof." This was the same story Strong Group told the police as the police did a walk around the home with me and Strong Group Public Adjusters owner Leonel R***** the day of the incident. The police pointed out to Leonel R***** that on the video they viewed they saw the estimator lifting shingles from the roof. This is how the damage occurred. Strong Group continues to deny any wrongdoing and accepts no responsibility for the extensive damage they caused necessitating a new roof. We anxiously await a resolution after more than five months. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/10/06) */ Please accept this as Strong Group Public Adjusters' ("Strong Group") response to the complainant's request to re-open the Complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau. Strong Group has requested, through the complainant's attorney, to be allowed to send licensed roofers to the property to assess any alleged damage. To date, Strong Group has received no response. Strong Group is open and willing to resolve this issue, but it must be afforded the opportunity to inspect the alleged damage. The inspection will allow Strong Group to confirm whether or not damage exists, if a roof replacement is necessary, and the costs associated with any potential repair. Complainant has not responded to this reasonable request.
