My husband and I lived at the Smuggler’s Cove RV Park for 9 months. We ended our stay on Saturday, May 27, 2023 when the manager, Jen, told us we were no longer welcomed to stay. This was unexpected as we had paid our rent on time every month and we were rarely at our camper. She stated she’d refund us for the rest of the month that we did not stay as we had already paid our lot rent for the month. The manager, Jen, has been contacted by my husband at least 5 times in the past month and a half and we have still not received any clarification when we would receive our refund for the remainder of the month May.Business response

This is Jennifer **** property manager of Smuggler's group. In reference to the above complaint I spoke to Mr. T***** on several occasions regarding his diesel truck running for long periods of time and not cleaning up after his dog. These are both clearly stated in my park rules. I have statements from 5 tenants complaining about him continuing to run his truck idle and exhaust fumes pouring into their campers as well as his dog running free and not on a leash which are the park rules and leaving the dog waste in their yard. I went way above protocol by giving them a 6 week notice rather than immediately removal of the park. Mr. ******* not thinking that he was going to be bound to that paid his rent for the next month which was promptly refunded to him. It was at that time that he decided to move out a few days prior to his lease termination date and was told on all of the phone calls going forward that there would be no refunds for early departure. I also reminded him of the storage lot that he used for 6 months with no fee as a courtesy for him being a public service type worker. That would have accrued to $450 as well as the right to keep an enclosed trailer on his lot, a fee of $150. At this time I do not feel that the park owes him any compensation for the $145 he claims he should receive. Please feel free to contact me with anything further,

The complaint against me is very inaccurate. I have a 6 week notice that was given to the tenants, the signed copy of the park rules that state immediate removal from the park for the 2 offenses and made it very clear to Mr. T***** that he would not be receiving a refund for the remaining 4 days of May as it's against our policy to give refund on early departure. Not to mention the statements of 5 tenants that either moved entirely or moved to different lots due to the problems with this said tenant
