On 06/16/2022 a technician from Gator Fire Extinguishers entered our place of business & told our front desk personnel they were there to perform "contracted" inspection service on the fire extinguisher. Once I heard about the technician, I went to speak w/them. The technician had already removed the old inspection tag & replaced it w/1 from his company. I asked the technician who had ordered the inspection. He could not tell me. He said it was an "annual contract that came up in the system for renewal." I explained several times that we did not order the service and are not contracted w/the company. He told me I would need to call the owner. Then, he sat in our waiting room & used one of our business cards to fill out the "client" information on the original invoice. Perhaps that information would have already been known by Gator Fire Extinguisher if the services were for a contract they already had. I did not sign the invoice, instead I wrote, "Did not order. Will call office to discuss. Thanks." I did call the owner & he could not tell me who ordered the service either. Instead, he wanted me to send him a copy of the invoice for him to investigate. I did. Two days later instead of resolution I received a "formal" invoice requesting payment within 14 days for a service we did not order. The invoice tries to make claim to our fire extinguisher until services are paid. That is fraudulent. I responded to the invoice via email and have yet to hear back from the company. I believe the company is showing up to unsuspecting businesses & claiming to have a contract w/them for services. Then, they are billing the company & trying to enter them into future contract w/them. That is fraudulent. Desired Resolution: I want the company to admit we did not order the service, void the invoice/contract, relinquish any claim to payment for services we did not order and relinquish claim to our property/fire extinguisher. I want this in writing from the company.
