I am part owner of a vehicle that was towed for debts on other owner in Dec, 2022. I live in another state and was unaware that it had gone to auction until a few days ago. When I called to get the legally required information as to how much it sold for and how much the debts were, i was told "it's been over a year and I won't answer your questions on a weekend." These debts were not jointly accrued by the two owners, and half of whatever monies they got from the vehicle are to be sent to me and shall not used to pay another person's debt.Business response

To whom it may concern,
This was a private impound on 10/14/2022 from **** W ******** Ln in Clearwater. The vehicle was left abandoned in disrepair with the drive shaft hanging out of the vehicle on private property.
Then on 11/1/2022 Detective ****** with Clearwater Police called and told us if either one of the owners come looking for this truck to let him know.
Letters were mailed on 10/25/2023 to
*************************** AND/OR ***********************
************************************************************** 74012-8513
*************************** and *********************** acknowledged that they received the letter, yet they did not act on picking up the vehicle. (More importantly, we have confirmation by certified mail that they signed for the mail) Close to seven months later *********************** wants to again waste everyone's time while being rude to my staff. There are laws in place for all to follow. Your current address must be listed on your vehicle registration. If you move, then you need to update as to your current address. *********************** acknowledged to having received the letter. His allegations are false, and he needs to take ownership for his lack of accountability in this matter.*********************** was asked politely to call back on Monday since he did not like the answer of my manager on duty Saturday. We have a limited staff on Saturday and *********************** decided that after seven months with no action, we were supposed to drop everything we were doing to assist his rude behavior and unobtainable requests. *********************** and *************************** were mailed the proper letter notifying them of the need to come pay for the charges.
Statement below from my staff member who he harassed with hang *** and multiple calls.
When he called the first time, he said he had our letter and he wanted to know if we still had the truck. I told him no. He wanted to know if we sold it, I advised it did not sell so we took possession and scrapped it. He then wanted to know much we got for it and why didn't we send him the money. I said it does not work that way. I then told him that the charges were over $1700, and we got $1300 for the scrap so actually he still owes us money. *********************** got mad and hung up then when he called again, he wanted to talk to the manager. I told him that I am a manager and he asked to speak to someone else, I then told him then he will have to call back Monday during regular business hours. During one call, he told me that we had a legal obligation to tell him we were getting rid of the truck. I told him we fulfilled our legal obligation back in October of last year.If more information is needed in this bogus complaint against a very reputable company, you can reach *******************, Director of ******************** @ **************************************
If you would like to discuss this matter more with Detective ****** to further understand the lack of credibility of this complaint, I can also put you in touch with him.
This again is a waste of everyone's time based on ******************************* inability to take accountability for his own actions and illegal property abandonment.
If *********************** would like to be a stand-up citizen and pay the remaining balance for his vehicle abandonment actions, please allow him to contact ******************* @ ************
I also ask that *********************** not contact or harass my staff, he can reach out directly to me.
Thank you,

Complaint: 20138916
I am rejecting this response because:First is that I was told by *************************** it was being taken care of. I was not the one being rude. When I found out that he never took care of it, I called to find out the results of the auction. After being informed that it had not been sold and went to scrap, i was asked in a rude tone "What do you want us to do?" Before I could answer, she said "i won't talk to you. Call back Monday" I tried to call several times to get this taken care of. It's the fact they refused to talk on a Saturday that made me upset. The fact that I did receive the original notification of impoundment does not mean I received further notification of the results of the auction or any other information. The responsibility is on **************** that half the proceeds should go to me, and ****** is left with the balance. Since I never received any of this information, the did NOT fulfill their legal obligation.
Thank you,
***********************
Sincerely,
***********************
