Recently Mastec has been contracted by ATT to run fiber lines throughout my neighborhood. They have been working on the same stretch for months. So far, I have had to deal with them leaving their things on my personal property (outside of the easement), blocking my driveway, leaving trash in my yard, destroying the yard and not fixing it. They have done this twice since they had to rerun the cable a second time due to using the wrong cable the first time. Both times they have left their machines parked in my yard which left hydraulic fluid or oil spills in my yard and sidewalk. They also have torn up the newly paved street and left giant swaths of road insufficiently repaired with dips and potholes. They left dirt and fluid on my driveway that has been ground into the cement from driving their machines on all day. Including images from the first time they operated on my property. When they came back they destroyed a different part of the yard.Initial Complaint

An employee of Mastec Knocked on our door and said they were here to cut our huge pine tree in the front of our house. We had $700 worth of decorative lighting in the tree and they said that there was no time for us to remove it. The proceeded in cutting large limbs off the tree with most of them being stuck and not hitting the ground, but teetering dangerously . We asked them who they were. They said they were ******** We asked why the MasTec said MasTec And the gentlemen suddenly couldnt speak English. We called ******* because of the dangerous limbs and large amount of tree Branches now left on our lawn. I must add My Husband climbed on a large ladder and dangerously knocked off all the teetering large limbs. I called ******* and they knew nothing about MasTec cutting trees in our area or at my address And said they would not be coming to pick up those limbs. I tried to reach MasTec Here in *************. There were numerous phone numbers I found online One had a ******* message that the number was not accurate The other number just rang and rang until it finally disconnected And the third number immediately went to Music and nobody ever picked up the line. MasTec Has left us in the position where we have the inability to contact him. Theyve destroyed $700 worth of light and decorative lighting In our tree. And there are limbs on our lawn that need to be removed by them.Customer response

Today is Sunday, September 15, 2024. As of yet, no one from MasTec Ever responded to our complaint. So we are still out the $700 Of decorative lighting that was destroyed by their employee. Additionally, no one ever came to take away all of the massive amounts of pine limbs that were all over our lawn When you play randomly cut limbs off of our enormous pine tree. The limbs were killing our lawn so eventually, my husband got a chainsaw and cut everything up and had it hauled away. I certainly will never knowingly do business with MasTec And if I hear of anybody doing business with mass tech, I will certainly let them know what type of company this is and what they did to us.Initial Complaint

I had a satellite installed 2017 direct says it was contracted out thru MasTec and now I have a damaged roof do to the fact that it was not installed properly direct has been out and removed said satellite and from what there installer has said it was not put up correctly I have also had a roofer out and he also stated that it was not not put in properly. We filed a claim with MasTec to have the roof repaired and they denied the claim stating that it was installed properly and they have pictures when I ask for said pictures I was told that they are the properties of MasTec and I need help resolving this issue. On 7/24/24 I caught 2 of your workers on my personal property. They not only had no business being here, it appears they came here solely to take pictures of our view. While it is a nice view, they passed 2 no trespassing signs. They came up my driveway, backed up, pulled up then backed up again. I was standing on my porch. I saw both of them, cell phones in hand, taking pictures of our view. I pounded on my deck railing and it caught thier attention. They quickly left, obviously having been caught. Reimbursement for car rental/ gas/ and INCONVENIENCES needed I'm fully aware that things happen but unfortunately my experience tells me that American Airlines in no way has the customer service skills to handle delays and cancellations. Service is already mediocre when there are no major concerns but when you add something like a delay or cancellation service with them is extremely terrible. As it relates to American Airlines the old adage "you get what you pay for" is always proven.For three years straight I've had an issue with American. In 2022 I had a cancellation just before a flight to a hospital for an important surgery I needed to have and it was chaos dealing with American so I booked a new flight with Delta. Last year July I used your sister company *************** and had the worst experience ever with delays, cancellations, poor customer service, and lack of efforts to rectify the issues and to this day I have yet to receive a response to the complaint ticket I opened with them.Related to these inconveniences, the car rental, and gas I have exchanged more than an few emails with American Airlines and each time the responding *** changes even though Im responding to the single email sent to me. At this point the only offer for the inconvenience is to reimburse me for the car rental. Nothing about the gas and nothing about the toll all three of the three mentioned trips has taken on my body.Business response

On November 27, 2023, a large amount of debris was left in the roadway by FNF Construction/MasTech North America. The vehicle is front of me kicked up this debris, peppering the rental vehicle I was driving, which resulted in a cracked windshield. The rental company is charging for the repair of this windshield. The damage is no fault of my own and was not avoidable.Business response

This complaint is a traveling public incident alleging that while driving ******* 95, debris on the roadway cracked the rental car's windshield. A traveling public truck (a non-company vehicle) ahead kicked the debris off the roadway onto the vehicle's windshield. Our carrier denied this claim based on the fact that this is a heavily traveled roadway by the public, and debris in the roadway can be dropped by anyone traveling the roadway. The claimant does not provide any proof that the debris in the roadway belongs to the company and that the company caused this incident. The company would consider this type of incident a road hazard.Business response

February 2024 MasTec Network Solutions started digging up my yard for the installing of Fiber Optic internet from the city of ****** of which I don't have any control over. On march 20, 2024 I noticed my plumbing was not working so I contacted *************************** from Xfinity yo let him know that my plumbing was not working so he sent *********************** to take look at my plumbing. I have lived in my home since 2015 and never had major plumbing problems until they dug up my yard. *********************** and his team was on my property for about 4 hours and couldn't figure the problem out. It started to sprinkle and they said they would come back the next day, I called *************************** to let him know that we were not able to use the bathroom, wash clothes, or do anything and that was not fair to my and me. At 4:59pm *********************** called and told me to get a plumber to fix the damage and if it was their cause of the damage that they would cover the cost. On Friday March 22, 2024. I was backing out of my garage and saw *********************** and crue with equipment to put in my yard. I asked them why were they in my yard if you already asked me to call a plumber to fix the problem. He called me a lie and said he had our conversation recorded of what he had said. I asked him to let me hear the recording and he remarked that he doesn't have to do anything. Then, I stated to him that I would call the ************************ ****** replied that he did't care what I did. I proceeded to call *************************** at his number **************. He didn't answer so I decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.Initial Complaint

On Feb 15, 2024 I had a technician for ********* to come to my home for service. I was told to have my dogs put away before technician arrived so no injuries occur. I did as requested and the technician (*******) came into my home using my back door which was closer to my tv, in doing so he had to go through a privacy gate. When the tech left he pushed the gate closed but failed to make sure it was securely latched. I have 3 English bulldogs which escaped when let back into their area due to his failure to latch. I was able to track them down, but one suffered injuries, a heat stroke. I incurred a large vet bill in order to save his life, but he was unable to preform his stud duties in the following weeks due to his heat stroke. MasTec has never contacted me personally. I have only spoke to a claims adjuster who informed me they were denying my claim and it was my word against the tech. This tech did not have to enter the privacy gate due to the fact the satellite dish was outside this fence. He could have used the front door. I have lost a substantial amount due to this incident.Initial Complaint

There were huge holes left in my driveway and yard. The holes were not there before the fiber optics were ran through my yard. I did not ask for the fiber optics to be installed at my home they were just installing them in the area. Both neighbors below us had their yards fixed by the company but they never fixed our yard. Please send someone to correct this problem. I have small grandchildren that could fall in these holes.Customer response

Mas Tech came out and repaired my yard and driveway. They were super nice and made sure it was done to my satisfaction. Very pleased with the repairs.
