FCONTRACTOR SALESPERSON TOLD GC (NEW IN **) THAT THERE WAS NO NEED FOR PERMIT ON A RELOCATION AND UPGRADE OF SMOKE DETECTORS IN A REMODELED CONDO. JOB WAS DONE. JOB WAS NOT BILLED UNTIL WE FOUND OUT DURING THE **** SAFETY FINAL INSPECTION THAT A PERMIT WAS REQUIRED. WE CONTACTED CONTRACTOR AND FOUND OUT THAT SALESPERSON HAD BEEN FIRED. WE ALSO ASKED THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT (OCEAN ONE) TO HELP AND WE FOUND OUT THAT THEY WERE ALSO FIRED FROM THE CONDOMINIUM FOR POOR PERFORMANCE. WE PAID FOR THE FULL JOB ($4,300) BUT THEY REQUESTED ADDITIONAL $2,500 TO PREPARE AFTER-THE-**** PLANS TO TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE COUNTY AND THE CITY OF *****************. WE PAID 50% OF THE $2500. THIS WAS DONE IN OCTOBER 2023. SUBMISSIONS WERE DISAPPROVED BY THE COUNTY ENGINEER AS IT DID NOT MEET REQUIREMENTS. SINCE DECEMBER THE ****CONTRACTOR HAS BEEN PROMISING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE AND KEEPS DELAYING WITH NO RESULTS. CONTRACTOR IS VERY UNRESPONSIVE.. I HAVE COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL WITH **************** (MDC ENGINEER) ASKING FOR HELP AND HIS REMARKS WERE NOT FLATTERING. AMONG OTHER THINGS HE WROTE:********************* is the licensed electrical contractor. In my previous phone call with ****, he admitted that he is not familiar with the Florida statutes and rules for fire alarm work. ************************************ is the registered engineer that signed and sealed the plans. The drawings I reviewed fell well short of meeting that rule as well as FAC 69A-48. Between ********************* and ************************************, they should be able to create a drawing that at least meets the minimum documentation requirements of NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. ***************************, Fire Plans Processor Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue

The information in this complaint is not accurate. The customer called our service department and spoke to the service manager about this work and was provided a quote. After digging into this i was told by office staff that the work was requested without permit, please note our quote states permits and plans additional if required. The person he originally spoke with at our office was not fired but relocated to another state. After the customer called our office and I was informed of what happened, I told him I would absolutely help get some drawings prepared for this work that was done. The work ****************** said was done was incorrect, we did not upgrade any smoke alarms in his unit, we relocated 2 ceiling mount strobes to the wall. We had a struggle finding any as built drawings to properly prepare drawings, so we used what information we had and did get rejections from plan review.  ****************** was the individual who was doing the plans submittal on his own behalf, so when there were comments from the building department on our drawings, he was not providing us with complete information that was coming back from the city which resulted in continued rejections. As of last week, I spoke to the plan reviewer and that was when we realized we were not being provided with all important InfoMation and comments from the building department. Once i relayed this to ****************** he then said that he was "a dinosaur with technology" and that was why we were not being given complete information from him. As of this date 6-2-24, we have all this and can now make all needed corrections to get the permit and close this out.

This man has called me many times at home at 2:30AM - 5:00AM with back-to-back harassing calls. As I stated above, we now have all the information he wasn't providing to our company and can get the job completed.

In his response to you, the Contractor claimed that: "As I stated above, we now have all the information he wasn't providing to our company and can get the job completed". This was one time mishap on my part at the end of May which delayed the project only by a week. As you can see since December his work has been rejected 3 times by the County Engineer and has nothing to do with any missing info I did not provide.

As I stated before in the previous response, ***************** was doing the permitting and not providing all information for comments the building department was wanting corrected.  This resulted in multiple reviews for his errors.  We cannot correct an issue if we do not have all the information intended to us.
Once brought to his attention, ***************** blamed this error on his part as him being a technology dinosaur. ***************** was calling me at home at 2:30-3:30AM at times which has since stopped but throughout this process we have been cordial to him, even in regards to filing this complaint.   The scope of work he claims was done is incorrect as I stated in the previous response.   We only moved 2 strobes.  We did not touch or work on any smoke detectors.    He he also filed a complaint on my license with this incorrect information.   All we want to do is finish this customers job and that is our intention.   When customers insist on handling the permit process themselves, we should not be to blame for the lack of information not provided to us by them.

      thank you

Contractor has not been able to get the work done as there are still 3 pending items. Contractor's statements are totally incorrect but he seems to be trying. Every response to the Miami Dade County's requests are very slow. We were disapproved for 4th time and we are hoping that he can resubmit them this week. This file by all means is not closed, unfortunately. Thank you

I hired this company to get permits and install an alarm system in my daycare. We were being threatened by the fire marshal to be shut down if we did not comply. Fire Alarm ************************************************ *** said they could do the job and sent someone to see the job and file for the permit. After 2 weeks we discovered he never submitted the permit. A week later they sent someone else. They told us it would take about a month to complete the job and get the permit, but only 5 month later did they finally send us the job order. In the meantime we called every day and were sent from one person to the other without anyone telling why were being delayed. The person who was originally assigned to our project was fired in the meantime because of their poor performance. During this process we were forced to close the preschool because of this issue. They have not denied any part of this story. They have now sent us an invoice for over $1,000 for the permit they submitted and the plans they **** for the work. We have asked to speak with the owner, but the billing department just keeps threatening to send it to collection and will not let us speak with the person in charge.
