On 1/5/24 I went into ********************************************* to exchange a gift. I explained it was gift and I needed a different type of candy, other than what was in the box. The box was securely wrapped and had never been opened. I was told immediately that I needed a receipt, in order to exchange the candy. I asked for a supervisor. The next person stated the same. I asked for a manager. The manager didnt initially want to come out to speak with me. I persisted. I explained to the manager that no where in the store, was signage posted of needing a receipt for refund or exchange. The manager/owner was rude. Well, what do you want, he stated. I told him of the exchange I wanted, not a refund. He stated well how do I know how old your candy is? It could be melted. I asked him to open it so we could both find out, but he refused. He finally agreed to do an exchange but told me I needed to pay $2.67 up charge. The candy is weighed by the pound and I had a pound box, so he wasnt being truthful. I left the store to retrieve my wallet. When I returned the employee made me stand in the back of the check out line, even though the customers in the line came in the store and ordered after I did. I was treated poorly and as if my business didnt matter. I have shopped at this location for many years. The organization I work for gets a 10% discount at *********************************************. Shame on the owner and employee for treating me poorly because they lack proper signage and policies. Customers should be well informed and given proper receipts and gift receipts if its being given as a gift. Some people are allergic to certain nuts or other products and should be able to make a change with out being treated in a derogatory manner. The candy was never opened. I didnt have a gift receipt because ********************************************* doesnt provide gift receipts . Do better *********************************************. Its ****, no need for the negativity and poor treatment of customers.
