Do NOT use Phillips Plumbing. If I could give 0 stars I would. We called them to come out for a clogged kitchen sink. My husband was told $89 service fee, but if we used them for the repair the $89 would credited towards the repair. Two young guys, maybe 22 yrs old show up. I work from home, so I let them in, showed them the issue, and told them if they needed me to knock on office door. Less than 40 min later they tell me they’re done, and it will be $349!!!! What? I asked what they did. Oh we just snaked your inside drain. (My husband had done this the night before) I said ok, what did you get out, oh just a little dirt. I asked if they had to replace anything, nope. So all you did was snake my inside drain? Yes ma’am and if you have any more problems we can put a camera down the pipe. I said ok, so you’re charging me $349 which you didn’t ask before hand if I was ok with, to snake a drain and in less than 40 minutes you’re out of here? Yes. My husband called the office a lady answered the phone, my husband inquired about being charged $349 for snaking a drain and asked if that’s their normal rate in which she got quite a nasty attitude about and wouldn’t directly answer. Haven’t been able to talk to owner. He won’t call anyone back. I’ve called 5 companies in Lakeland and all have ranged between $79-95 as service fee, but just for snaking and less than an hour wouldn’t have charged anything more. I’m fine with the $89, but I thing your kids took advantage and overly charged and as the owner you should make this right and refund the difference, and I will gladly update my BBB reviewReview from William M

I needed the main water line into my mobile home repaired on a Sunday. The dispatcher told me there was a $119 weekend service charge. The plumber that arrived reminded me of that and told me the repair would cost $389. I accepted, believing that the $119 was included in that. It took him less than 15 minutes and less than $10 worth of material to fix the line. He charged me $508, the $389 PLUS the $119. The office said this was the weekend rate.

The owner is the one who dispatches calls on the weekend. We always advise that on the weekend it is a $119 weekend service fee PLUS repair. The on-call tech also reaffirms with the customer that it is a $119 service fee PLUS repair. We also give an upfront price for the repair before performing work. You were informed multiple times about the weekend service fee and the cost of the repair. In no way were you led to believe that the repair included the service fee. Had you have not chosen to perform the repair for $ 389, you would have only been charged the $119 weekend service fee.
