0 rating . It is either pay nontransparent/nonessential charges at FLL NU/zezgo rental or get stranded. 3 people in the span of 45minutes walked out of deal. When I went to counter They claim liability insurance is mandatory but no where in contract it states mandatory, rather gives option of decline ( I had insurance thru my credit card) i asked to see a copy of terms to help alleviate 2 concerns on terms..she refused to show me copy of terms. I asked for manager (they claim no manager just workers) . I asked to cancel. Desk girl refused and told me i had to call somewhere else to do so, when they said fine we will cancel to a previous person in line. By this time there was what i considered innocent line of new ******* from airport . Room is small conversations easily heard. I asked for a printout showing my "request and reasoning for cancellation she refused (written or printed). So it would be my word against hers. (conversation went on for a few . She finally said she cancel and the only proof I could get was to turn around and ask all the people behind me if they heard her agree to cancellation, as they all said YESSS! which i attempted to record. Now, When your quoted TOTAL charges it should entail all mandatory charges upfront to get your keys and pull out of lot .. !thats why they have transparent laws. If I request to see a written copy showing me the terms and conditions she is asking me to abide by, By law she should be able to readily provide without refusal or telling me to look it up online on my own. I am a local but IMAGINE , ON VACATION, GOING TO RENTAL , SEEING YOUR SUPPOSED UNDISCLOSED MANDATORY CHARGES FAR EXCEED YOUR QUOTED TOTAL PRICE AND NOT KNOWING OTHER OPTIONS. FOR THOSE WHO PAY I CAN IMAGINE IT WAS WITH A KNOT IN THEIR STOMACH LIKE I FELT .. SAD FOR THOSE WHO DIDNT BUDGET FOR THAT AND HAD TO WALK OUT WITHOUT A CAR AND CHARGED FOR NO CANCELLATION POLICY. THIS IS A CASE FOR INVESTIGATION AND COURT JUDGEMENT IN MY POINT OF VIEWReview from Greg B

I had a rental reservation through one of the online discount travel websites. When the person behind the counter asked for insurance, I told him that my credit card covers everything. He disagreed with me, and said it does not cover "loss of use". He then told me I needed to pay an extra $50 for insurance to cover "loss of use". I told him that I would pay it, and then if my credit card covered it, I would expect that to be taken off the bill, and if it wasn't I could dispute the charge. He then canceled my reservation on the spot! I left the building called my credit card company and then walked back in and provided a letter stating that my card covered "loss of use", and he refused to rent to me. Total scam artists! The representative of Nu Car was clearly trying to charge me for insurance I already had with my card, and when I called him out on it, they refused to rent to me. He also refused to offer the mangers name and contact info.Review from Courtney D

This is a scam. I paid for a car rental through Expedia prior to arriving in *************** for a NU car and when I tried to pick up the car the person working there said I had to pay an additional 500$ deposit and an additional $188 for the car rental itself and gas and insurance even though I already have car insurance that would cover a rental car as well.Review from margaret m

I would give this company a zero if that was an option. I just received an alert from my credit card that they were manually entering my card to charge me for toll roads for a visit in ****** a month ago! I called them and they said the ***** charge was ***** in administrative fees and 9,00 in tolls. When we rented the car, they charged my card twice for 400 even though we prepaid the rental through Expedia. I have still not received the credit back. I am sure that they are consciously ripping people off knowing that it will take awhile for them to be shut down. Big ripoffs. Never rent from them.Review from Teka E

I'm 54 and have rented many cars in my lifetime and this by far is the worse experience I have ever had. The cat was filthy, cigarette burn, tire pressure light was in, and the front alignment was bad. There were hidden charges, I paid online so I didn't expect additional charges but I was wrong. So I called them the same day I picked up and said hey charge me for the day but I don't want this car. Basically I was told come get another car and we will not refund you. I asked for a manager and was given an email address to voice my complaint. Listen Beware go to a reputable well known car rental company. This company is horrible!Review from Marvin A

This is the worst most unethical business I have ever delt with. I called them and they do not care about customer service! My bill was tripple the original bill after I left there shop. They have terrible reviews a unfortunately it is not just me they take advantage off. Priceline recommended them and were worthless to help me!!Review from Frank L

These guys are a scam operation. They participate in expedia, quote a low price, then make up non-disclosed fees to double the agreed upon rate. For example, they require "loss of use insurance" that is not disclosed and that is not part of the normal collision/liability normally covered under a person's own policy. Total scam.Review from Dianne D

How can a car rental force you buy coverage when you already have that same coverage through your own personal auto insurance?Review from Erin N

I am writing this review as a warning to other travelers. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM! I wish 0 stars was an option. I provided them with proof of my insurance and refused the damage protection, but he would not budge. *****, (named on my receipt) refused to let me sign off and forgo paying the damage waiver. I'm attaching original photos of the reservation from my email and copies of the receipts and contract from the rental upon arrival. I was also forced to prepay $43.96 ($10.99 daily) for prepaid SunPass or get charged $30 for each time I went through a toll. I brought my easy pass with me from *****, and have used it in past rentals in *******. This was not an option as they had secured the easy pass to the windshield, so I could not remove it the way that my easy pass comes off (plastic velcro). I ended up forced to pay an additional $101.52 at the counter. I was staying in the Keys and went though three $0.50 tolls that I could see. I used $1.50 worth and was charged $43.96! This is after an hour of arguing, showing him my insurance policy, and stating I didn't want it. They are predatory in that they will not let you forgo this option, even though it is FRAUD! I plan to report them in every way I can. I am not someone who gets taken advantage of easily and felt like I had no choice. I even told him that it was predatory at the counter! Additionally, we were only staying for a few days and this was cutting into our vacation. They will count on you caving and paying. If you're not in a rush, hold your ground. Once in the car, I was fuming. Another renter came to our car (he must have seen me arguing with them) and said "These guys are crooks, I'm never renting here again, I'm gonna stick with the major companies at the airport"! I couldn't agree more with him and will never do this again. I learned a ****** and want to warn others. It was all MEN (6 or 7 running around with two waiting on people at the counter). As a woman, I felt like I had no choice.
