I hired Cherry roofing to put on a new roof in 2020. Through their negligence the roof has leaked approximately 6 times with countless visits (or should I say scheduled visits as they never showed on many occasions.). It commenced with a 2x2 foot whole in my ceiling in May 2022. I have other inside damage from prior leaks. After back and forth and much time elapsing Cherry roofing fixed leak but does not agree to fix internal water damage. Repaired ceiling but didnt repaint. They will not return calls to pay fire and fix water damage in a 2 year old roof.Business response

In response to ******************** complaint:
We went out to ******************** house to Install the Roof. We realized one of the walls on the right side of the house was missing ****** and brought it to his attention.
We advised him to apply the Stucco and repair the wall and he stated he would have the painters do it when they came to paint the walls.
Once the Roof was finished, on the first rain, we received a call to repair a Leak by the back sliding door. We sent out a crew and they were not able to find the leak. I, **** Cherry went out there myself and found that the leak was coming from the roof vent sticking out of the side of the Chimney. I ran a test and confirmed that was the case.
Even though this was not our responsibility nor our fault, we proceeded and fixed it for ****************** at NO CHARGE. We removed it out of the wall and sealed the opening with hydraulic cement at NO CHARGE. Also, told the customer one more time of the Stucco problem he never fixed.
About a year later, we get a phone call of two leaks. One was in the same area previously leaking before we did the reroof. The other one was leaking right where the Stucco was still missing. We resealed the wall and once again brought the Stucco issue to *******************
Ever since we learned about this complaint we have tried to reach out to ****************** with no response from him. We are willing to help him and work with him within reason as we always strive for customer satisfaction.
We do not feel that we are responsible for any damages given he had the damages prior to us installing the roof and given that ****************** failed to follow our advise therefore causing the leaks and the damages he is claiming.

I am rejecting this response because: Mr ********************** is referring to the wrong leak. There is damage from a leak that was clearly his responsibility.

We have fixed his chimney leak with no additional charge. Even though the chimney is not our responsibility. We fixed the leak, we will repaint the ceiling and waterproof it. Our crew has been sick and My secretary was out of the office for a few weeks. We try to do the best we can and will continue to do so.

Please call me or my office ************ and I will take care of painting the ceiling. We are not admitting that it is our fault because we have to see what you are referring to! But nonetheless we will paint and waterproof the area you are referring to.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:my ceiling fell in due to inferior work admitted to by supervisor. Repair was made but Cherry roofing has not repainted it . Nor have they repaired living room damage . They leave messages to talk and when I call back they dont answer or return my call .

I went to ****************** house Wednesday, Sept. 21 and had a conversation with him. He explained to me what he thought was our responsibility and I then explained how it was not, however, I agreed to fix the problem and paint the ceiling for him. It is my understanding that this situation has been resolved. We always strive for 100% customer satisfaction. Hopefully ****************** will be satisfied once his ceiling is painted. I am rejecting this response because: while **** finally came to my house after telling me to expect him two days earlier where he didnt show up or call. We are not in agreement . While **** agreed to paint a ceiling that should have been painted months ago. He sent a guy over who patched it and didnt painted and that was two months ago . He does not agree that he is responsible for the damage to my other ceiling from repeated, since fixed ,leaks . I expect my living room ceiling to be repaired . I am fully prepared to fix it myself and open a claim in small claims court to resolve. I would think after 5 leaks , kitchen ceiling falling in, constant unanswered calls and texts , and more often then not they do not show up as expected. **** can give you all the excuses why he doesnt do what he says he will do .

At this time, we are not really sure what the customer wants. His original complaint was about Cherry Roofing to agree to paint his ceiling which we decided to do to finally put an end to this back and forth and for him to be happy. We thought we were in agreement that we would do this for ****************** even though it was not our responsibility. It sounds like he wants us to admit responsibility for something that we had nothing to do with.Customer response

i know very well what I want and **** just ignores me . He is doing me no favor agreeing to paint my ceiling that fell in after a leak his ****** said was faulty installation. He would not pay the Dry wall guy to paint it just repair it and it has been 3 months left unpainted . As I am writing this rain is now leaking onto my bed. This is about the 6th time I have had a leak in a two year old roof . It does not help that every time his ****** showed up he smelled like a brewery . **** also Refuses to fix damage chimney leak caused to my living room. Please see photos and video .

I am rejecting this response because:Mr. Cherry got you to close prior complaint by saying he would at the very least repaint collapsed ceiling. Once complaint was closed he made no arrangement to honor that and I have not heard from him since .

Good morning,
I had spoken to ****************** and I agreed to paint the ceiling, however, we needed flexibility on the time to schedule.
A few days later he opened the complaint again. We called him again to schedule and he said he no longer wanted us to do any work that he wanted $1,000.00.
We feel that we should be allowed to paint the ceiling for ******************, however, we respect his decision therefore we are willing to settle and pay him $500.00 if he agrees in writing that
this would satisfy his complaint and will reframe from any other including small claim court.
As soon as we get the agreement in writing then we will issue a check to ****************** and close this complaint.

Well in between all of this I have another leak from my bathroom skylight which I discovered was not sealed at all. While **** said he needed time to paint my ceiling dont you think 5 months is enough time . To get this over with he can come out and seal , not reseal, but actually seal my skylight . I will accept $500 if he actually pays . **** never does what he says he will do . Got you to close complaint by saying he would paint and a month later still didnt hear from him until i reopened the complaint . What a guy!
