I cannot express the aggravation caused by El Mago's Roofing Corporation and the disrespect and lack of professionalism demonstrated by their staff. This company did not provide the proper documentation needed by my *** in order to obtain the pre-approval required, however, they forged my signature on a notice of commencement which was notarized and recorded in the county records and proceeded with the work without the approval. The *** then hounded me about this problem that was left up to me to deal with the stress. They rushed to collect their 1st payment prior to me obtaining a completely signed and valid contract from ********* *** It was only signed by the owner of the company after my insurance company requested a copy. I reported broken tiles installed on my roof and very bad roof tile cuts throughout the job which I reported to their office but I had to alert the building inspector for the city and have him call them in order to make sure this was done. To date, they have not met with me to review my workmanship issues nor the property damage that they caused and address them, only hounding me for the last final small payment. The worse part is the disrespect, threats, and damages from their workers which have been totally ignored by the owner of the company, probably because I am an elderly woman. When I send an email to them for assistance, this is just an example of what type of response I get from staff: " I'm freaking tired of dealing with people like you - we can handle a charity with you...you want war I'll give you ******* war ************ owner has not contacted me to discuss my concerns.Business response

We are not responsible for handling his issues its the customer who need to solve this not ** we did four roof sand building we never had an issue with nobody
no one explained to ** that she is 80 years old but in emails and threats she doesnt behave like old person
she has no respect at all to nobody
roof passed all inspections required by the city
so I dont understand what else she wants

On Saturday, December 1, 2022, we contacted the "El Magos Roofing Corp" with the hopes of getting a fair estimate to repair a leak in our roof. We were quoted $1400. Within that quote we asked them to remove the wooden boarders and tarp from the roof. The El Magos Roofing Corp agreed to repair the leak and remove the tarp so we put down a deposit of $700.On Sunday, December 2, 2022, El Magos Roofing Corp came to our home for the job. Once the job wascompleted they left. Shortly afterward my wife went outside when she noticed the blue tarp and wood was still around the roof and they left yard a total mess.El Magos Roofing Corp was immediately contacted and advised that a staff member we comeback and finish the job and it neverhappened. We were having a baby shower that weekend so my pregnant wife and i had to clean the front yard and paid to have someone remove the wood, tarp and debris.The El Magos Roofing Corp contacted us requesting the second payment and there was a dispute between us and the company reference fair compensation for the services they provided and what we had to do to get the house back in order. (paying another person $150 to finish the job that we paid the El Magos Roofing Corp to do.) El Magos Roofing Corp stated they would give us a $50 credit and that is not good business and is unfair.Just after the dispute the El Magos Roofing Corp tried contacting us, but we were dealing with a death in the family and they threatened to send us to collections during this tough time.The roof started to leak AGAIN (#2) in the same area that they claimed to have repaired. They requested payment before they came back out and we stood firm and stated will will not pay until the work in 100% done. They finish and we finalized the payment. Now here we are AGAIN (#3) THE **** IS STILL LEAKING IN THE SAME SPOT. We called the El Magos Roofing Corp to have someone come out and repair the roof. They canceled our appointment 3 times!Business response

I am rejecting this response because:You are not telling the truth about the Roofing situation. You placed a picture from months ago for the situation that was not rectified. Thanks for posting the proof and admiting the way you left our house after not completing the job the 1st time!
I finally spoke with you 2 weeks ago asking you to come back and confirm the leak is secured (after the 3rd repair) and you assured me you would send the staff member back out to do a follow up check to make sure everything was good to go.
Here we go again! NO CALL NO SHOW. And you have the audacity to say the roof was taken care of 10 days ago? This is terrible. Unprofessional. After venting to you my frustrations you gave me your word and did not follow through. Water came back in the roof with the most recent storm again for the 4th time.
Finish the job and do it correctly. Hopefully I don't have mold in my roof. This company needs to be held accountable and do better business.

Im sorry but not he is a disrespectful personI had left several times voicemailsHe has my personal cell phoneHe needs to call me and set up appointment to send my crew and. Fix his roof problemIm an honest person and I have great reviews all over if you dont want my money its up you sometimes its not just the word of the customers in this case Im your customer not himPlease make arrangements with him for next week Thursday 8/9 am Ill have my crew there but this complaint need to be gone the following FridayIm tired of people getting advantage of everything there is no free ride in this worldInitial Complaint

See my previous complaint The owner called me this morning screaming using profanity and threatening me Literally threatening to *** over his botched unprofessional job I told him I wanted my money back and he told me no he also said that he thinks I need a new roof which is something Ive never heard before He also said he cant afford to keep sending people out to fix it for the quote that he gave me well a contract is a contract and the work was not done. I dont expect to be threatened and I truly hope that you at the Better Business Bureau can resolve this is***. The man literally was screaming so loud others could hear it . I will not be victimized by this all I want is my money back so I can hire a competent roofer. It was a small patch in September that still pours like a waterfall. I have hours of documentation on it and I want this resolved before I have to take it to my family attorney, which is on retainer , I do not like being verbally threatened by a contractor who does not do their job and I believe the gloves are off. Please resolve this. I dont appreciate being threatened. He literally threatened to put a lien on my house for a $900 job that he apparently missed quoted, and now is absolving himself from the situation. This man is belligerent and threaten to *** me over a job thats still not done thats been going on for four months he does not deserve a five star rating. In fact, potential customer should be warned of his volatile temper, shoddy workmanship, and thoroughly unprofessional behavior. Ive been in business for 40 years when he started screaming, I said excuse me how long have you been in business? He wouldnt tell me he eventually told me five years and I had to laugh. Please resolve this I dont have any more time to waste on this nonsense and especially since you as the Better Business Bureau have him as a five star rating Which is what I went by when I was hiring it tarnish is the Better Business Bureaus reputation .Initial Complaint

Date of the transaction: 11/3/2022 The amount of money you paid the business: $600 What the business committed to provide you:- Replace broken/loose tiles - 8 pieces, glue down with foam adhesive - Replace or glue down roof tiles hips - 4 pieces - Apply roof mortar or cement if needed - Remove roof debris from property - Send me before and after pictures/videos of the roof What the nature of the dispute is:From 11/3/2022 to 11/18/2022, I contacted El Mago's Roofing numerous times via text, email, and phone requesting that they send me all the pictures/videos of the roof that they agreed to send me, but they have not. Since I cannot climb up to the roof myself to inspect it, the pictures/videos would provide proof that the repairs were actually done satisfactorily and thoroughly and that no damage remains. Just the repairman's word that there is no more damage is not acceptable. I also want to point out that they made me pay the full amount of $600 upfront on 11/1/2022 before the repairs were made on 11/3/2022, but they were only supposed to charge me 50% deposit and then balance upon completion. When I again called ****** in their office today, 11/18/2022, I asked her specifically if she will send me the pictures/videos today, she said yes but did not. ****** the owner also didn't respond to me either.Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem: No Account/order/tracking number: N/A
