William **** took my money and he Never finished doing the project. He did not finish plumbing nor electrical installation and took the permit away leaving me with the burden to update all the documents required by the Florida building codes. In Oder for me to get a final inspection, certificate of completion and a notice of commencement I have to pay the county thousands of dollars! He left most of the work unfinished and hiss craftsmanship is very very poor!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/25) */ We were contracted for $176,996.00. However we were not paid over $180,000.00. Below is the breakdown of what was received. Toward contract: $157,917.31. Change order for additional windows and doors: $4,384.80. Change order for electrical and cable additions: $2,613.18 Homeowner was told in the beginning that work could not start on her house until trusses were on site. (It was a fire damage house. We did not want to remove the roof until we had the trusses.) This was an initial two month delay. Also homeowner requested options for windows and doors. She waited over a month to give us the ok. Once approved, we had to wait an additional month before the windows came in so we could move forward on drywall. The last delay was when the homeowner three times delayed payment. On all three occasions I had to hold up my subs until I knew we were getting paid. Once paid we had to get all subs rescheduled. This created delays all three times. Homeowner was told that she could move some of her belongings in two bedrooms. However she was never told she could move in the house before final inspection. In the beginning of December we were trying to finish the work on her house. She was living in the house at this time. On that day she spent two hours straight berating my son and I on the phone with others and us directly. I asked her to please stop or we would have to leave. She told us to leave. I then sent her notice that we could not work in her house with her there. She requested that we work and she would leave. We tried it once. On that occasion she had the wrong plumbing part for us to install and the tile that was there for repair was missing. After we left and she came home, she claimed we ruined her sink. (We never touched her sink) I then spoke to the head of ********************************** to explain the situation. He stated I needed to cancel my permit with the homeowners due to them living in the house without a Certificate of Occupancy. Her being there would be a liability to me. At that time I made sure we were financially equal by completing an $2,500.00 exterior screen repair and then removed Pate Homes LLC from the permit. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/02/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) We had a house fire in May 2020 and our rebuild took 13 months of incomplete work (some of which were completed ie exterior and interior painting) everything was never ending. The "punch list" of items that needed to be properly finished and corrected is being done by us... We still have to come out of pocket after he took ALL the Draws leaving us dry. I could write page after page about this Contractor William ****, and his poor craftsmanship, he hired the cheapest labor and got the cheapest products and is highly unethical especially when dealing with us home owners, He becomes very offended whenever we addresses an issue about the sloppiness of his subs who destroyed our landscaping and leaving our patio and garage with a paint trail which they left for us to clean up! Ours was an electrical fire, and because he exhausted the ETA we had to rent places to live which cost a lot of money. He also took the permit when he left without finishing the work. He even ordered our kitchen cabinets from a different store outside of where I selected, and charged us for USED sliding doors. The County placed a Notice of Violation on our property since he walked away with the permit) by the way he and the County Inspector are buddies) so he was being spiteful to us after taking Advantage of us. William **** needs to be accountable for all of our pain and suffering...what a heartless man who says he is a Deacon. He also caused my husband's Dementia to get worse. We are retirees and is under a lot of stress because of him HE was a very bad choice! Now we are at an impasse with County because he did not get a final inspection, Notice of Completion and A Notice of Commencement. IT IS VERY SAD! During the rebuilt he came during the night and took all our products ie bathtubs etc because I wanted my invoices, he said he will not bring ANYTHING back until he gets another Draw... which was so spiteful and unfair so we wanted our home to be finished... so we had to give it to him. BEWARE people a house that would have taken less than $80,000 took $180,000 to rebuild!!! Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/03/01) */ We had a house fire in May 2020 and our rebuild took 13 months of incomplete work (some of which were completed ie exterior and interior painting) everything was never ending. Now we are at an impasse with County because he did not get a final inspection, Notice of Completion and A Notice of Commencement. Now he's using a letter that was created in error by the remedial contractor who notarized it and gave it to county in order to move forward. He took advantage of us! I have to update all documents to 2020 Building Code and I have to pay thousands of dollars after he took ALL our money... Our situation is bad and William **** needs to be accountable. At this point I would like to go ahead with this complaint. I was not aware that I did something in error especially since I have until March 7th to respond. Thank you and have a good day. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/03/01) */ I stand with my previous reply. William ****
