I hired this plumbing contractor to insulate the plumbing he had re-piped earlier due to a flood that occurred right after I bought my house. ****** Rodberg rerouted the plumbing through the attic, which led to a persistent issue. I asked him to return and insulate the cold water line from the main supply throughout the attic to all faucets. Despite this, the water from my kitchen faucet still runs at 96 degrees. After paying him $6,675 for these repairs, I found out he never insulated the kitchen's water supply, and the temperature remains unchanged. He has since become unresponsive to my calls, texts, and emails, ignoring numerous messages and emails I sent to address this issue.

Had a water coming through my kitchen floor tile. Called ****** Plumbing **** to fix it. Was told that it's the pipe issue. I paid $2,000 in February 2023 to the plumber to fix the leak. Since then, I still have the same issue and the plumber doesn't respond to my messages.

      Hello ******************,

Apologies for the late response. Sorry to hear you had a less than satisfactory experience to where you needed to write a complaint on BBB affecting my business, but to go over the facts, we went out to do a leak detection, as you stated you had water coming out of your kitchen tiles, we verified through meter and leak detection that there was a leaking cold water line under the kitchen floor. We gave several options, Option #1: (professionally speaking, would have been the best, as described to you on site) Break the floor tile, chip through the concrete and make a repair at the source of the leak but due to you, ******************, not having replacement tiles, would have caused you to replace the entire kitchen floor, which you indicated you did not want to do. and Option#2: Disconnect the supply line running under the kitchen floor, feeding an exterior hose ****. and Option #3: Reroute the supply line through the attic and abandon the underground supply line. You chose Option #2 for cost reasons, I'm assuming. We disconnected the supply line feeding the leak under your kitchen floor from the wall manifold, verified the meter had stopped running after our solution. While making the repairs, you had indicated that your husband had done a lot of DIY plumbing, as was self evident, throughout the kitchen plumbing system. We informed you that there could be residual water trapped under the tiles, and about a month later we received a call from you, saying that water was still accumulating in the kitchen and wanted us to do Option#1 or #3 for the cost of what we did Option#2 for. I explained we will gladly do it for the difference in price quoted to you on our first visit, however you did not want to disrupt your kitchen tile floor, leaving it impossible to proceed with that option. In addition, we identified that the leak had been repaired due to the meter no longer showing water flow. We were left at an impasse, due to not wanting to pay for further work being done requiring breaking up the tiles and then hiring another company to reinstall tiles.

Wish you the best in all of your future endeavors,

      God Bless.

I am rejecting this response because:

      1. As you have stated in your response, you gave me three Options for fixing my kitchen leak. An Option means that it is a viable choice in solving my problem, even if it is the "cheaper" way. As a single mother who is currently fighting through breast cancer, I had to choose the cheaper option due to financial reasons. As you stated, Option 2 of disconnecting the water supply was presented to me as a definite way to fix the leak, which is why I chose it. If I were informed that it would not fix it, then I would not have paid for it.

      2. You mentioned that my ex-husband did *** plumbing, but this does not in any way relate to my problem with my kitchen. When we were discussing the *** plumbing, you were taking a look at the plumbing in my bathroom in a different part of the house. So, although there is *** plumbing present, it has nothing to do with the leak in the kitchen. Additionally, when you saw the plumbing, even if it were ***, you should've used your expert opinion to make a decision on whether the leak could be fixed or not. By continuing with the fix, you take the responsibility and the promise that whatever job you do will fix the leak.

      3. To summarize the timeline, during the first appointment, I chose and paid for Option 2, which was supposed to fix my leak. After a few weeks, I had the same amount of water on my kitchen tiles. I had to reach out to you myself regarding this, and you assured me that this was fine because you said it's just residual water being trapped. As instructed, I waited for a month for this residual water to dissipate. However, the water never left, and I reached out again regarding the continuing leak in my kitchen. You returned to my house and found out that for Option 2, you did not properly close the valve which led to the continued kitchen leak. After properly closing the valve, which should've been done correctly the first time, you left again, and after waiting for the same water to dissipate, nothing happened again. I reached out to you for a third time, and this time it took 4.5 months for me to get a hold of you regarding the leak. You mentioned that your wife was in an accident, and I am sorry about that, but I should have been contacted by someone else in your company since I was still continuing to experience my leak and since I continued to stress regarding mold and getting it all finally fixed. Additionally, when doing Option 2, you had to cut out a part of my wall which was needed to fix the leak. However, I am constantly having to wait to patch it up since the leak was not fixed.

In conclusion, I believe that because Option 2 did not solve my problem, I deserve a full refund. I paid for a job to be completed, but I am in the same exact position as I started. When I pay for a service, I expect to get what I pay for. In this case I paid for no leak, but I am still left with one, which is why I deserve my money back.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

On 1/17/2022 ****** Rodberg stopped by to give me a quote to replace a leaking gas riser, and disconnect/reconnect my home generator (it needed to be moved a few feet). Later that day, he sent his guys to unhook and cap the gas riser in the ground, and to "collect" the $500 he quoted me. Yes, quite expensive, but it was a gas leak, so I took the first bidder. They said they would be back the next day to replace it. Now, over 2 months later, the best response I can get (if i call him 10 times in a row with no answer) is an occasional text that they will "be here next week" or "tomorrow" yet never show up, or respond. Absolute theft.

      Hello **************,

Apologies for the late response time. I see that you are stating from your experience that you needed your leaking gas line capped for discontinued use to the pool heater, and are unhappy about the job we agreed to. We also disconnected your generator at no charge. You stated that you would call us back when you needed it reconnected.

When we arrived to the second call to reconnect the generator, you informed us that you had changed your mind and wanted to have the pool heater that had previously been paid for to us to disconnect, now reconnected for a possible future pool heater. This meant we would have to re-dig up the line and install a riser where we had previously installed a cap. We informed you that this would be an additional charge of $470.00,  which you agreed to and paid with a check upon completing both the generator and pool heater connections.

After leaving your house with the check that you wrote, you then called your bank and canceled the check... which is considered theft of our labor and materials. I then contacted you, ****************, and informed you that I would be filing a police report and prosecuting for theft of the canceled check that you had written, if not paid in full immediately. In which you then you stated back that "I thought about it and since it seems we both had a misunderstanding on what work was supposed to be done for what price, and no documentation to fall back on, I would be willing to split the 470 with you. Let me know if you are ok with this. I would prefer to close this amicably." (all in which appeared to be in tandem with previous text attempts to seemingly threaten your own pretend fake culpability, then after stated no more text communications - clearly to not have physical proof) To be honest I could file and put lien on your house, but I decided to be the bigger person and eat the cost and just move on and not deal with dishonorable customers again. But to see that you are going after my liveliness, in which I work extremely hard to feed my family, two of which are young children, and have a small business, by posting on BBB to lower my rating over the fact I should have and could have pressed charges is deplorable.

Thank you for letting me clarify so my future customers do not let this theft and in bad taste review affect all of my hard work. Plumbing is not everyone's "dream job" but I happen to have a brain that sees things differently and can solve issues faster and better than most. Ask my prior customers. But I am not a grudge holder, that is just toxic, so good luck to you in your future endeavors and I hope you have learned from this and do not treat your next plumber with the same disrespect you gave me.

      God Bless!
