My homeowners policy renewed September, 2023 and increased so I purchased another policy in December, 2023. I notified Southern Family in February, 2024 to cancel my existing policy with *** and refund remainder of annual premium paid in September. As of today, I have not received a refund and Southern Family tells me they are unable to assist any further with this issue. I am not able to contact *** directly as they only deal with agents appointed by them. Please advise how I may obtain my refund. Thank you.Business response

I received and reviewed the complaint. It should be noted Southern Family Insurance Services, LLC is not an active entity and no longer transacts insurance as of the sale of the agencies book of business in 2021. To address the complaint the issue has been resolved and was done so shortly after this was filed, the resolution is not related to the complaint and we were unaware it was filed. As communicated to the client *** is a broker and although we submitted the cancellation request it took some time for processing to which we have little control over. We tried to maintain a reasonable expectation to the best of our ability and worked hard to get this handled as efficiently as possible. As stated the cancellation was processed and refund issued to the insured.
