Journeys, MidAmerica health benefits reimbursement company is the worst. It doesnt matter what medical service I am getting done. They always need an itemized bill even if I am just paying for it right at the time of service. Then I need to do the legwork to get that information to them. They are.constantly locking my card and not let me use it because they need an itemized bill and then it takes 5 to 7 business days for them to review the receipts before I can use my card again. I just got off the phone with them and asked them to have a survey sent to me and the guy said just stay on the line and youll get one. I stayed on the line and he hung up on me. I guess they know they do not have good customer service at all so he didnt offer it to me.

Long hold times. Extended delays or lack of response. Complete lack of on-line submissions. Terrible support for me. Archaic hurdles to submit claims. Fill out another form...ridiculous. One lady is very nice and patient, but for crying out loud why in the world do they make claims process so difficult???

I have had to call this company 7 times in the last 45 days to follow up on my Wife’s Distribution Request. Each time, I am told something different as to why my request can’t be processed. One excuse was, the Customer Service representative hasn’t gotten around to forwarding the paperwork. I have had to update my address 3 times. I have had my User Name and Password expire 3 times within 3 weeks. The endless excuses are unbelievable. If you don’t follow up constantly, they DO NOT communicate with you EVER…I could not even get a Supervisor to call, even though the REP said she would have them call. I’m STARTING TO THINK MY MONEY HAS BEEN EMBEZZLED. To date….We have nothing…

This is a company that has a voice mail that says noone can answer the phone because they are in a company wide meeting! Not one person or a place to leave a message. I have been trying to get the distribution I have to take and gave my forms to our company accountant which he sent in. They continue mail a reply to say things are not correct but when you try to call them for clarification you can NEVER get through. I call on the state of Florida to investigate asap! My tax returns are not complete due to the inability to get through to anyone there. Julia

It has been a nightmare working with these people. I’ve been trying since Dec. to sign my husband up for automatic payment with the journey card. This would allow the insurance company to charge the card. For the past few years, we could send in the first payment request from the insurance company and it would be reoccurring . I kept getting a canned email, which didn’t explain why. Each time I called and talked to one of their representatives and got the same answer, that it should be ok. I now received an email saying my husband’s card is suspended. He is having surgery next week and we need to purchase prescriptions. I have called 4 days in a row now and get the response that it has been escalated. How long does it take to review? 2 days ago I requested a manager call and never heard from anyone. My daughter says we should hire an attorney and sue you. I was also told the processors were backlogged in Jan. And Feb. if that’s the case, how can you suspend the journey card? I’m so frustrated……

Zero stars is the accruate rating. MidAmerica is without a doubt a corrupt company from my experience. I am the executor of my fathers estate (passed in 2019). Prior to his passing he was made to jump through hoops to get his submissions paid out, his final weeks/days were spent making sure I had everything to continue to fight his for his HSA reimbursements. He spent 80 hours a month prior to his passing working on this. He sent all the documentation that was stated as required, they would then turn around and say they need more documentation but when asked what else was needed could never get a straight answer. This headache has transferred to me and has been ongoing for almost 3 years after his passing. My first communication with them they refused to discuss the account until I provided proof of death and that I was the executor of his estate, which most companies do. However, without proof of his identity or even relation to my father they shared detailed information about the account and balance of the account to my brother who legally is not able to be communicated with regarding it as he is not an executor of our fathers estate. Not only a is that a HUGE HIPPA violation but I would imagine it is also illegal to provided information to unauthorized individuals. They also, despite having his death certificate and estate paperwork continue to send all mail addressed to my deceased father instead of myself/executor or the estate like Every other company. They continue to not respond to communications from our estate lawyer regarding the many claims we have filed, it has been months of no responses/communication. Then today I get a statement (again addressed to my deceased father) showing that the balance of the account has been transferred/ forfeited. Mind you we have outstanding claims that we've been waiting for responses to, but yet they emptied his account. They do not have the account information for it to have been transferred into the estate banking account and I received no check so where is his money? The statement also was mailed to me in an unsealed envelope that was clearly never even attempted to have been sealed. As you can imagine losing your parent quickly, unexpectedly and them being fairly young is almost unbearable then you add trying to manage their estate while manage your grief/family, etc and wanting to right by them only to have a company make it is challenging as possible by never wanting to give honest & clear answers, then ignoring filed claim & communication & carrying this out for almost 3 year struggle. It is impossible difficult to move forward in life and try and find peace when I am still having to fight for his hard earned money to be paid out to the filed claims. Personally I would advise absolutely everyone considering giving them business to run the opposite direction.
