I had a horrible experience with Reputable Paints/*****************************. On April 30th, 2024, ***************************** of Reputable paints started work on removing popcorn ceiling texture from our guesthouse ceiling. The signed contract states "Plastic the walls, covering floors with tarps and drop cloths, ceiling repair ni main living area Popcorn removal in main living area connected to kitchen and bedroom. Texture ceiling with knockdown using proform compound.Prime and paint." I paid a deposit of $420 on 4/25/24 and $1680 on 5/6/24. On May 6th, *** said he had to leave early because his shoulder was hurting but that he needed payment. The liability insurance he provided me with on 4/25/24 was cancelled by the insurance company on 4/3/24 according to the insurance company. He said he was licensed, but provided me with his LLC reg#The texture is not knockdown texture. The walls and floors ended up with a large amount of texture sprayed all over them using a ******, making it impossible to paint since the edges were not cut in. The carpets are ruined with plaster and paint. The ceiling is still not fully painted. The new texture is also already cracking. I have had two other contractors come out who said the texture needs to be completely redone. I have estimates for the replacement of the carpet in the bedroom, using the lowest cost option and for the ceiling repairs, and the damage caused is going to be around $9000 to repair/replace. I simply asked for the work to be done correctly and cleaned up or a refund. I gave multiple opportunities for *** to make things right, but the last time he showed up on May 20th, he left more texture on the walls, didnt repair the cracking texture, or fully paint the repaired areas. He said he would come back out but never showed. He said he would clean the carpets but did not.I let him know I had tested the ceiling for asbestos and that it was negative and he said he has done many of these popcorn removals and never did testing.

This customer has constantly harassed and accused my company for false accusations and trolling the internet harassing my past clients through emails and text. I have told this customer to reach out to me numerous times to fix and address the issue to her ceiling accordingly and she refuses to do so. This is the first customer I've had who went back on our agreement due to a popcorn removal the pictures associated with such accusations are things she told me I can get texture on then told repeatedly about the issues she had previously to her ceiling. I have been harassed for 2 weeks straight by this client she refuses to accept any offer.

I am rejecting this response because I have already allowed the owner of ReputablePaints to return to the property to repair issues, but he caused more damage to the walls by again not masking the walls before applying ceiling texture, didnt clean the carpets as he said he would, didnt repair the cracked portions of texture, and left areas of the ceiling unpainted. The owner was a no show on May 24th. He refused to repair the cracked areas and top me I would have to pay more to have the poor work he did repaired.

I left a review after he was a no show and refused to repair or refund to help cover damages. The owner began harassing me via text and online. I do not feel comfortable or safe with having this individual on my property.

The cost to replace the bedroom carpet and have the ceilings redone is around $8000. I have requested a refund of $2100 (the amount I paid) to go towards damages done to my bedroom carpet and to partially cover having the ceiling redone, which wasn't done properly. Every contractor who has been out has said the drywall wasn't prepped which has lead to texture falling off the drywall and areas were painted prior to texture being fully dry which led to cracking in texture.

      Sincerely,
