I purchased a vehicle for $8,447.11 on April 26, 2024. The vehicle has a ***** mile motor and transmission warranty. After driving the car less than 500 miles, the transmission started slamming into gear. I emailed **** (and left a voice mail with the service number he had provided me at the time of sale) on April 30, 2024, advising of the issue. I took the car into the shop on Monday, May 5th and the mechanic verified the transmission was bad. ******, the service person, said he'd call in a couple of days to bring the car back, once they had the transmission. I called on May 10th because I hadn't heard anything. ******, again, questions me about what the car is doing. Now he's saying it'll be next Wednesday before they will have the part. They haven't even ordered it. At this point, I just want my money back. This business has lied to me, and they have yet to do anything to repair my vehicle.Business response

Purchased a car in 03/13/2023. Drove the car about 1300 miles in these months. Coolant light came on and took the car to the dealer. As told to you and Mr. Bert C*******, in my letter to them that Michelle was being verbally abusive to me. She had said she spoke to me and that is not true as I do not own a mobile phone. Told them I could not pay this amount and I would come and pick up car. Michelle than informed me I could not take the car anywhere that it belonged to Mr. Craig B****. A week or so later she called me and said that I had blown up the engine and it would cost me $3500.00. See attached letter pleaseCustomer response

He knew when he was selling me the car that it was a bad car and that he was aware of all my medical problems and knew I did not have a lot of money. The $2700 was a down paymentBusiness response

Our customer purchased the vehicle without a warranty, AS-IS. Our customer was told to have the vehicle towed in and not drive it once it started overheating. Customer stated she put water in it. The car arrived at Brown's over heating. Our customer stated she did not have the money to fix the vehicle.Initial Complaint

I got the car April 14, 2022, im currently stuck with a car that has been having problems with transmission. I didn’t have the car for less than a week and it started to misfire on April 18th, call the company to see if I can either get a different car or return it and they told me I couldn’t! If I tried to return it they told me something about putting a repo on my credit. I wasn’t aware about the lemon law and just went with what they said. So I took the car back to them to see if they can fix the problem because it had a 6 month warranty and they tried to charge me $200 to fix the problem. I told I’m not paying that due to the fact that I just got the car and put a total of 3k down on it. They told me they fixed the problem so I went with it. Couple days later it had the same problem. I kept taking the car back to them because the car kept having the same problem, and they kept telling me that they have fixed the problem, but they never fixed the problem because to this day it’s still happening to my car. I haven’t had this car for a year and just recently my car wouldn’t turn on because the battery was really bad so I had to pay out of pocket for a new one. it’s out of the six month warranty so they don’t want do anything to the car. Every time I will take the car to get it “ fixed “ they never gave me paper recipe on what exactly they did to my car. They only gave me a recipe that one last time I took my car because after that day my car was out of warranty. They told me after a while if I wanted to switch cars I can and when I called to see if I could do that they told me I can’t. They lied to me about that. They basically pushed this car onto me because they knew I was desperate to get a car because I have a two year that has autism so I can to drive to take him to his appointments and speech therapy. I barley use the car because I don’t want it anymore, it has only given me problems since the first month of getting it.Business response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: they are giving false information and saying my vehicle is fixed when in fact, they still have my vehicle and are still working on it since February 9 the mechanic reach out to me and told me my car won’t be available till February 27. They keep prolonging the fix date and when I will get my car back they first told me in one week then they told me something went wrong with replacing the transmission so I had to wait another week and now they’re telling me it won’t be available till Monday, February 27, it’s been well over two weeks. They have not provided me with a loaner car or rental knowing that I have a job to go to, but they did mention to me that their company doesn’t do loaners or rental cars also when they received my complaint on Better Business Bureau the sales person that sold me the car, then reached out to me very upset and told me that if I don’t delete the complaint they are not going to help me out and that I was lying and I’m basically blackmailing them so I told them I’ll see if I can delete the complaint so they would help me out, but I don’t know how to delete the complaint, and I’m not going to delete the complaint, because what they are doing is very wrong, and very unprofessional. All I wanted was an exchange for a different car because that car has only giving me problems since day four and now they are willing to “fix” it but I keep telling them I don’t want them to fix the problem I want an exchange for another car they don’t want to do that for me. They want to keep me stuck in the same car. It is very very unprofessional of them to say that they have fixed my car when in fact, they are still working on my car.
Sincerely,

I financed a 2008 Ford F150 through their buy here pay here program a few years ago. The vehicle came with a 3 month/3000 mile power train warranty. Inside of a couple weeks the engine begin to exhibit issues idling, losing power and what appeared to be issues firing on all cylinders. I took the truck to the dealership several times, even leaving it with them in which their mechanic could not replicate the issue. Eventually it was so bad that the truck barely ran. I couldn't even drive it to them even though they attempted to insist that I do. By now I'm no longer interested in paying for a broken vehicle they had ample opportunity to repair. I surrendered the vehicle to the dealer under the impression that the power train warranty would apply. Yes the 3 months had transpired but the issue began under warranty and was never repaired per the contract. As such the vehicle should not be a charge off and need to be removed from my credit report.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/23) */ Our repair facility was unable to duplicate the mechanical issue our customer stated he was having with the vehicle. When the vehicle was voluntarily returned, the account then became a voluntary repossession. Which would result as a voluntary repossession on the customers credit report. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They had to have it towed back from my residence due to mechanical failure. You don't have to duplicate a problem when the vehicle won't run any more. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/04/29) */ Our customer was not in warranty and returned the vehicle as a voluntary repossession. Which resulted as a repossession on the customers credit report. If the customer would like to have the charge off removed, the customer will have to pay the balance due. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/04/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The vehicle was under warranty at the time the failure began. A failure on your part to correct the issue under your warranty, to whit the issue continued throughout the warranty period and persisted until engine failure is a failure on your part to remedy the issue given ample time and opportunity. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/05/03) */ As stated previously, our customer was not in warranty and returned the vehicle as a voluntary repossession. Which resulted as a repossession on the customers credit report. If the customer would like to have the charge off removed, the customer will have to pay the balance due. Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/05/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As stated previously the vehicle began its malfunction while under warranty and the malfunction persisted throughout the warranty period until finally the vehicle was no longer functional. The dealership failed to repair the vehicle during the warranty period. As the mechanical issue occurred during the warranty it is the obligation of the dealership to repair the vehicle which they failed to do. As such the vehicle no longer functioned and was returned to the dealership voluntarily. I do not dispute the vehicle being returned but I do dispute the terms as they failed to maintain their end of the bargain in honoring their warranty and repairing the vehicle as necessary. As such, it is not my obligation to pay a balance for a vehicle they failed to maintain under their own warranty.
