Florida Keys Vacation Rental/ Coldwell Banker Schmitt Reality - Quite possibly the worst **************** ever. Right out of the gate the agents seemed like they didnt want to be bothered and had better things to do. Called ****** left message when she finally got back to me I was told she would have her associate contact me. I reached out to *****. Upon asking what was available, rates , taxes and fees I was given a list of properties to look up on my own thru the Florida keys Vacation Rental site. There was a time you guys would send out data sheets for all available properties with price breakdowns and all. Something happened over the last five/six years and its not good. Who Cares !! Right. Thats exactly the name of the property I chose and the attitude your staff shares. Maybe its Who Cares if we over charge, over tax, falsely advertise $6000 then try and pump you for $7000. Oh but get this. Youll meet me half way at $6500. Then add extra juice in the form of $840 over the current tax rates and tourism fees. When called on its its a glitch in the system. A new invoice was sent out. This one actually had the taxes right , still an inflated price of $6500 not the advertised $6000. Ok hey Ill take it heres $1000. Then two days late I get a text, not even a courtesy call. Oh wow we double booked this one. Feel free to go on the site a pick another property ************* professional, not the conduct a Coldwell Banker Realitor should be demonstrating anyway. I should have visited the BBBs page before attending to do business with you operation. Seems the pump and dump, propertys rented to the highest payee is a common practice out of your offices , lots of double bookings. Do the property owners get a piece of that action too.Business response

Hi,
It's unfortunate that we are humans and make mistakes. 1. We have a new rental system that all the info on the rentals were not updated. We felt bad for the tenant seeing the rate at $6000 so instead of charging $7000 we charged $6500. The owners of the rentals homes dictate the rental rates. We typed his confirmation up and sent it to him. Then realized we had doubled booked the property, as someone on VRBO had booked the house prior. As you will see ****** tried calling him, no answer so she text him. We didn't even have his deposit at the time. I sent him a email on 11/15 trying to explain the problem. I really am sorry, this happened, but we tried to put him in another rental and he didn't want our service.
Again, it's unfortunate it happened. I have been doing vacation rentals a long time and I don't like for anyone to be unhappy. We are here to make renters vacation a memorable vacation.

I am rejecting this response because:
Bait and switch tactics Advertised at 6k changed to 7k on the phone A deposit of 1k was given An invoice for an egregious amount was submitted I replied with questions on rates and questions the inflated price. All of a sudden property is unavailable/double booked but you do have properties to offer double the initial propertys rates . Thank you but no thanks seems to be a history with this company and these people.Sincerely,
