PB ******************************* was employed by us in late October, 2023 for regular bi-weekly lawn maintenance. In the first few months, we did a handful of additional landscaping projects with them which garnered them an additional $10k in revenue - including the installation of plants and shrubs with a guarantee that they would survive or be replaced. They became increasing slow to respond to communication, missing scheduled services, etc. in late 2023 and in a much more noticeable way in January. At the time, they claimed there were healthcare issues in the immediate family. We empathized with their situation, and gave them a final project which we paid for in full ($3,300) on Feb 23rd, 2024. That project was a surprise for my husband that was supposed to be delivered within a week's time. After week's of chasing them (and extension after extension) to make progress on the job they started and got to 20% completion, Ever signed a docusign document with us the first of April with a commitment to complete the project by April 5th. They showed up on the 4th, brought in a few of the pieces they'd promised (getting the job to approximately 50% complete), and asked for another extension to 1pm on April 6th. They never returned back to the job. We had to pay someone else to finish the job, purchase the remaining materials required, and have just come to find out that the previous shrubbery they had planted for us is in fact dying as they planted them directly on concrete. At this time, we are out in excess of $3000 of our money that we'll need to cover the costs of the half finished project and now replace the dying shrubs. We feel mislead, taken advantage of, and, after a brief search on the internet are seeing that we're not the only ones feeling this way about PB Designs & Landscape. They left 2 other neighbours in our immediate community with incomplete jobs. We want to warn others before they fall victim to this business.Customer response

This is an image of the front shrubs taken this morning. Dead & dying. We found out after pulling one up that they are in fact only planted in 4 inches of dirt. Roots are all exposed and there is a slab of concrete directly below them.Initial Complaint

PB Designs and Landscape gave me an estimate on April 8th to purchase and plant the 11 plants I selected, at my house. Among some other minor jobs. ********************************* the owner, asked me to wire her company $670.00 in order for her to purchase the 11 plants and she would planting them on April 9th.April 9th she didn't come. She said, they had broken a sprinkler at the job before mine and that she needed to reschedule for the following day, April 10th.April 10th and April 11th came and went and not only did she not come. She did not answer her phone or her text for two complete days.I asked my secretary to send her a message for an estimate On April 12th and she immediately replied and asked, "when would you like me to come over"?I then said to her, "you are answering to new customers, but ignoring me". She proceeded to say her daughter had gotten hurt at school and she had been in the hospital for two days that she gave me her word that the following day, Saturday April 13 she would be at my house at 11:00am to complete the job. That did not happen. I called at 11:00 she said she was running a little late, that she was going to shower and head over.When I called at 12:00 her excuse was that the plants she had purchased for me had been taken to her plant in ******* and she was on her way to pick them up.When I called at 2:00 she said, she was on her way to my house and for sure by 3 she would be there. She proceeded to say we will be done today, for sure!3:00 o'clock came and she did not show up. For the rest of the afternoon and evening she did not answer her phone or her texts to me, again.On Sunday April 14th I posted an alert to others about what she had done to me. She saw it and immediately responded to my text to say she would come do the job first thing on Monday Morning April 15th. My husband told them we wanted our money back and that we no longer wanted them to do our job. To please return our money. Then a new set of lies began to not pay.Initial Complaint

On July 17 I wired $1,300 to PB Designs and landscape LLC to seal the driveway of my home located in *********, **. This was the deposit for 5 Cali Brick Sealer at $260/each. On July 24, the company showed up at my property with a cheap sealer (only 1 5 gallon bucket of Olympic WaterGuard Multi-Surface Waterproofing Clear Sealer), with a retail value of $76.98 at the local Homedepot store. They sprayed it sparingly over our almost ***** sft driveway, with 5 gallons being clearly insufficient to cover the whole area. However, this product was not the one they had quoted me, and most importantly was the wrong sealer, which I realized after I talked to the manufacturer (according to the manufacturer the product they used causes " hot tire pickup" in ******* given the high temperatures and is not recommended to be used on driveways). I contacted PB Landscaping and they agreed to return me the money. However, I still have to see any money paid back. I even offered them a payment plan. In order to properly seal my driveway, I will need to strip the layer of wrong sealer that PB Landscaping applied, and for this service I have been quoted $1,800. I am asking for help in order to get my money back ($1,300). Thanks, ******Business response

Hello, I have agreed to reimburse the total amount but we did 2 lawn services that we never charged for those so we can discount $160 out of the $1300 we owe Sonila. I understand we are lacking communication but my husband has been in and out of the hospital and its been a horrible couple of months. Im only asking for a set payment plan or some time to pay Sonila back.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I don't believe they are sincere in their promise to pay me back. They haven't shown any good faith so far. I haven't seen ***** and Ever since late July. They have lied to me several times, promising to come and talk to discuss this issue. They haven't started to make any payments whatsoever, so I have no reason to believe they will start doing it anytime soon. I am planning to file a police report this week as well as engage a lawyer to take them to court.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. They are reimbursing the money with weekly payments. I still need to get fully reimbursed.
