I was a student for Lux rally travel, and I completed the 3 to 4 week teachable course that they have you do also the main reason I am filing a complaint is because throughout the process, you sign an exclusive clause for one year with this company and also I invested close to $1000 in equipment that they required such as double monitors and advanced type of sound and video card A lot of different things, larger amount of ram as well as a couple other things that I will and have a copy of the required things in order to move forward once I went through the assessment and according to the people involved in the assessment, it was not supposed to be a pass or failed type of situation Allegedly last night, May 14th at/or about 7:35 PM I did an assessment with employees and or administrators of the Lux rally travel only to be told at the end of the assessment that I would not be passing and because it was my third time taking the assessment that I would not be allowed to move forward with the company, which was completely new and surprising to me, however, I never knew and was never informed that they have a three strike system, unless of course it only applied to me because I am the only African-American male in All three failed assessments and the major reason for me filing the complaint is one. I have a lot of time and money invested with this company of which I do and will seek reimbursement for. As well as the reasoning I was given for my third failed assessment. Was far from the truth and not even valid because upon my research of the property there is no mention specifically one of the reasons why is a detailed Spanish bar at the property that I did a quote on in my assessment it is something that I plan on having as an exhibit in my petition however, because as I stated, I will go after the money and time that I did invest in preparations to work for this company I consider the manner in which this company operates to be fraudulent and totally misleading.Business response

To become a LuxRally Travel Agent, we require a independent contractor to complete training to ensure quality of agents facing our client base. We have many agents of various backgrounds, all of whom are listed on our website, including many African Americans. Our training is free and therefore there we do not provide free computer hardware to contractors, although we do recommend a minimum specification of computer in order to effectively quote travel. Since we charged the applicant $0, we cannot provide a refund.
We cannot publicly discuss why an applicant failed out of the program, but it is a rigorous process, and can confirm this applicant did not make it through. Of those that attempt the final exam 3 times, only 2% of applicants fail at this stage. It is very rare and the only reason we fail someone on a 3rd time, is if we feel that their lack of development is a liability to themselves, their clients, and/or our company. We take client experience very seriously, and are selective as an agency, which is defined in our contracts, intro calls, and clearly stated on our website.
Regarding Non-Competes, those have been removed from our contract as of April 23rd, 2024, and backdated per FTC ruling.
