I received an estimate for landscape curbing on 6/3/24 from staff member "****" for 125 LF of curbing at $10/LF for a total of $1,250.00. An appointment was set to perform the work on 7/10/24. Before starting the work, one of the crew members rang the doorbell and asked me to confirm the areas in the yard where I wanted the curbing. The crew member indicated that the curbing would not meet with the concrete walkway; I acknowledged & agreed. I showed the crew member the area on the front and left side of the house & a small area on the right side of my house. The crew member rang the doorbell and asked about using the electrical plug. I told them that whatever they were plugging in kept tripping my breaker. I opened the garage to allow him to inspect the breaker. Shortly after, "****" began repeatedly ringing my door bell, knocking on my door, and looking through my front door glass. I answered the door and she indicated that the crew was almost finished and she needed payment. I asked her what were acceptable forms of payment and she indicated cash or check. I work from home and was in the middle of my work day, so I wrote a check and she left. I did not inspect the work when the crew finished because it was raining off and on throughout the day on 7/10/24. When the rain cleared up, I walked outside to inspect the work and noticed missing curbing on the right side of the house. I took a picture, sent it to ****, inquired about the missing curbing & asked she planned to resolve the issue. She replied "that's for the gate to open an access with mowers". I asked that the curbing curve more inward but not end abruptly & this was not previously agreed on. She replied that she would schedule to come back and redo but would not confirm a date. I asked in two follow-up messages to confirm a date with no response. After she did not respond with a date, on 7/11/24 I called my bank to stop payment on the check. She responded on 7/12/24, but did not confirm a return date.
