The only guest actually staying at Edgewater Beach was the "grandmother". The individual filing the review was not a paying guest. The grandmother, who was the actual guest, was offered a complete refund on day two of her stay yet she did not want to leave and was okay. In fact, she made verbal comments later in the week to the GM that she loved her stay and time at Edgewater. Some other notations are not accurate. There are five elevators (not 6) of which all are being re-modernized for $3.6M this year. Info was sent to those with reservations via email on the elevator work prior to arrival allowing guests to opt out of their reservation if desired. Two elevators were down for such work during grandma's stay. One was down for repairs after a lightning strike surge took out a control board. Two were working at all times. The elevator certificate is up to date as shown below from the State. The issue with the service animal was the owner of the animal for which the pet was assigned was not present when a man with the visitor was allowing the pet to defecate next to the elevator construction trailer, not in any of the designated pet walking areas. According to ADA web site "The handler is responsible for caring for and supervising the service animal, which includes toileting, feeding, and grooming and veterinary care". Edgewater established rules do not allow any guests or visitors to have pets at all except those with service animals allowed by law. All pets must utilize pet walking areas and the actual individual requiring the service animal should be in the presence of the animal if able. Staff challenges for those not obeying rules is warranted. Witnesses revealed that no one ever took any papers or documents from the claimant. The service animal card was in a wallet and not removed or handed over.
