I received a bill from Expert Air January 2023 for $3,900 "miscellaneous." I have made repeated phone calls, emails and certified mail to ask for the paperwork. Expert Air has not complied. Is legal action the next step?Initial Complaint

Expert Air was called to look at my Dad's air conditioner down in Naples, Florida. The charge was $222.50 for this service call on 09/20/2022. After the service call, I was contacted and told a new compressor was needed. At that time, I was told the compressor was under warranty and we would have to pay for the installation charges (approx: $1700!). I asked for an itemized breakdown of the charges. I had to contact the company numerous times until I finally received an email from Shirley on 09/26/2022. She responded stating that the company is a flat rate company no matter what the time frame is for the service and/or how much Freon is needed. (see attached email). As of October 24th, the services have not been completed. I did contact them and the excuse given was that the compressor was stuck in Orlando due to the storm. In the meantime, I contacted another company and they took a look and repaired the AC for $137.58 including the service fee. It wasn't the compressor at all!! It was a wire that shorted out due to being frayed. I contacted Expert Air and asked to speak with the owner and cancelled the compressor. I have not heard back from them. After speaking with local neighbors, I have been told this company works on commission. My concern is that my dad (elderly) was being taken for granted. Not only due to his age but also because he is not in Florida to see what is actually being replaced, or how long the work would take. I am concerned that many other customers have been or will be taken advantage of since they work on commission. I would also like the $222.50 fee refunded on my Dad's Discover account. Spoke to Karen this morning. We will issued the refund to her father $222.50 as agreed upon during our conversation this morning. We believe the matter is resolved at this time.
Expert Air Services, LLC would like to clarify at this time that we are NOT a "commission based company" we do not and our employees do not work on a "commission basis".
Also, our company does not "take advantage of elderly customers" or customers who are not present at the time of service.
