I hired this company to do garden curbing for us June 28, 2021. They left saying they'd be back in 3-4 weeks to seal it. I reached out Aug 5, 2021 to see where they were as I hadn't heard a word since they left, and the weather has been beautiful. I was given a bunch of excuses but they would be out the next day. That night it rained, so I texted her, and said it was wet and that I wanted to save her a trip out as it needed to be dry. She came anyway and sealed it wet. It looks bad, I told them this. She came out with her husband who said it would clear up when it dried out. If not they'd come out and put a product on that would fix it. She said they'd come by the week of Sep 27th and accomplish that. Nothing. Oct 18 I reach out again, they said they will stop by. Nothing. I reach out Oct 20th and tell them I'll be going to the BBB, and small claims court, and review the business on social media. She finally responds and says it was all my fault and I was nasty for wanting what I paid for. She claims she bent over backwards, but I don't see that. Nothing but a fight to get a job done professionally, and a job that was well paid for.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/10) */ Contact Name and Title: Jeannette Huggett owner Contact Phone: 8503131501 Contact Email: handhllc07@gmail.com I went out and gave an estimate to the individual on 04/28/21 for landscape curbing. She accepted via text on 05/08/21. She was told at that time we were scheduled out about 4 weeks. If you live in Florida, in our area, you know it was a really rainy spring and summer. We didn't get to her project for 7 weeks due to so much rain. Saying we've had BEAUTIFUL weather was an untrue statement. My customers are always informed laying curb and sealing curb are weather dependent. I don't contact the customer after we have laid the curbing until they come up on the schedule to be sealed, there is no reason for me to. When she reached out on Mon, 08/02/21, and inquired about sealing the curbs, I informed her then with all the rain I was running a little behind but, her curbs were on my schedule to be sealed later that week if the rain stayed away. On Thurs, 08/05/21 she text again informing me we haven't had that much rain to warrant it being 5 weeks and them not being sealed. She advised me I shouldn't be taking on New clients before I finish with old ones and that was a problem for her. She advised me I should be checking with my customers to see if they were getting 'ALL THIS RAIN I WAS TALKING ABOUT". I told her I often do drive by's to check and see if curbing is wet/dry and can be sealed. I am well aware it might rain in East Navarre and not West Navarre. She live's within 3 min of me so I had been by to check on her curbing. I told her on the 5th I would be over on the 6th to seal her curbing. She text the morning of the 6th and informed me it had rained the night before and the curbs were still wet, I was well aware of the rain the night before and I told her so. It was sunny that day and I told her I would be by in a couple of hours to check on it. When I arrived there were some small areas still wet but, the majority of the curbing was dry and I decided to seal it, as I was tired of the nasty texts. On Aug 17th I got pictures of the curbing and a text that said this is Horrible, I want a refund. What it shows, in the picture she sent is a hazed look where the curb was wet in that area when it was sealed. She was informed it would dissipate but could take 30-60 days to do so. I have the same picture she sent to you its from August 17th, I'm not sure why she didn't send a picture of what the curb looks like now, I am certain the haze has dissipated as she was told it would. She continued to send texts telling me, " We were the most unprofessional company she had ever dealt with, it looked like a child did the work and she was sure the community I work in would want to know about this. The next text was to berate me some more saying she would review my business with any and all social media the BBB and small claims court. I told her I wouldn't be bullied or threatened. My reputation in this area for over 12 years doing curbing speaks for itself. This is the 2nd customer in all of our years in business that got nasty and ugly over nothing. She was told it was a natural occurrence and it would clear up with a little time. I have pictures of her curbing and she received an excellent product. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/01/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Her first mistake was not communicating with me about sealing it, and making excuses. It had not rained in a long time when I asked when they'd seal it. My mistake was handing her a check for the full amount. I believe if the install was in two parts, so should payment- that way she's more likely to finish the job in an acceptable amount of time and not whenever she felt like it. I never threatened her, I just told her what I was going to do since they clearly weren't going to fix the problem. When you give bad service, people have the right to know about it. What does being a small business have to do with anything? When you say you will come by many times and never show up, with no call or text to reschedule; that's likely a problem for anyone you've taken money from. Odd that the time I kindly tell you to wait to seal because it just rained, and you can't seal it wet - you came anyway and did it. So much for your vast experience you chastised me on in a previous conversation. Just because I'm inquiring when something is going to be done doesn't make me nasty and ugly. That's another excuse... "I sealed it because I was tired of all her nasty texts". I think she should post the whole text log because she's embellished that conversation. I only talked about reviewing your business because you chose to do nothing you said you'd do to fix it. The only reason you texted me on the 5th is because I inquired about you finishing the job. Also, the pictures you claim were "old" haven't changed. But, I went out and took some more pictures so inquiring minds can see for themselves that they still look horrible and nothing has been done about. I will upload those. 30-60 days has come and long gone and nothing has "dissipated".
