On 10 September 2024 I purchased a jeep from Ferman Chrysler of *********************** and they offered a $500).00 garuntee to beat any other dealers price. They did not beat beat ULM jeep of Tampas price for the same vehicle and I am requesting the 5000 Garuntee. The Finace Manager even wanted to raise the price by 2000 additional dollars to offer me a 3 year 0% laon. The finance manager refuses to talk to me and said he would send me the "fine print of the garuntee, which he has not done" He said his lawyers would be in contact with me which they have not done. sent a Certified letter with the return sender's signature to the General Manager and he has not responded.I received a Mopar Corporate satisfactory call three days after the sales and told the lady the details and my dissatisfaction of not honoring the $5,000 guarantee and she said she would contact the General Manager. I have not heard from the finance Manager or General manger ever since I formally in writing requested they honor the Guarantee.

We sold Mr. Strickler a Jeep Wrangler on 9/10/24 with terms agreed upon by him as well as our sales and finance manager in the amount of $42093.71. We dealer traded this unit from our sister store to get the exact Jeep he wanted, which he signed and took delivery of on 9/10/24. The day after taking his new Wrangler home he emailed the associate that he wanted his $5,000 guarantee because he found another store that would beat the deal. He sent us a screenshot of sale price from a website which does not qualify under the rules of our promotion (see below) as a Purchase Order, and more importantly our disclaimer clearly states that the price match is prior to purchase. Our sales manager Michael Sessa attempted to explain the price match guarantee, as well as offer to send the disclaimer for him to read, and Mr. Strickler started using profanities, along with telling him that he would lose his job and be bagging groceries once he sues us and that he is getting his lawyer. At that time the conversation was ended due to the guest’s threatening tone and coarse language being used. The request to receive a check for something that he is not legitimately owed simply seems deceptive and predatory on Mr. Strickler’s behalf. We take pride in giving our guests a truly exceptional experience and I feel we did just that.
This is taken from our website stating the terms of the $5,0000 guarantee (screenshot attached as well):
Positively Unbeatable Best Price Guarantee is available exclusively at Ferman Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of New Port Richey when purchasing NEW vehicles with no more than 300 miles and excludes all custom vehicles, specialty vehicles and limited production vehicles. Prior to new vehicle purchase, Guest must present to Ferman a Purchase Order from another local, non-Ferman franchise dealer selling the same brand as Ferman and located no more than 150 miles from Ferman. Purchase Order must be signed by both the Guest and competing dealer management for an identical vehicle to the one in Ferman inventory. Competitor’s Purchase Order MUST include VIN number and equipment listed. Price is inclusive of all rebates and incentives. All rebates and incentives are to be assigned to the dealer. Competitor’s vehicle must not be a previous rental vehicle. See dealer for complete details. Expires December 31, 2024.

This letter is in response to BBB complaint case #********: regarding ******************** concerns about the Ferman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram of New Port Richey for the diagnosis on RO ********.
The vehicle was towed in after having a TIPM replaced elsewhere,it was determined that during the Diagnosis that the low pressure lift pump was not working properly and we would have to start with a lift pump. The guest declined, towed it out and paid the agreed diagnosis fee of $555.00 plus tax minus a discount of $55.50 for a total of $581.97. The diagnosis took place in July of 2023 as documented on the attached repair order. The guest placed a review on ****** (also attached) on September 19,2023, we reached out in response to the review (66 days later) saying the lift pump was brand new and we misdiagnosed it. He went on to say that another dealer fixed it for him under a recall. When we spoke we attempted to explain that we had no functioning lift pump when we had it, where and what happen to it after it left our dealership is unknown. As of this time we still see no reason for a refund.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have supporting documentation and testimony from the dealer an independent shop saying the lift pump was not the problem an the fact that the hpp was replaced on recall by another dealership. Because it was diagnosed incorrectly by Ferman should be enough proof that they did not do thier job correctly and instead of owning up to their failure they decided well we did our job

Expansion on the previous response regarding the vehicle, we have attached the text message communication between the owner and the service advisor. The owner acknowledges the pump was replaced one month prior and would take it back to the shop that installed it. The question lies that even if that point the diagnosis was incorrect, the truck was towed out 7-13-23 ****** review and contact made 9-19-23 why someone not let us know sooner. We have not been provided with any documentation providing where the truck was or what was done once it was picked up from Ferman CJDR of New Port Richey.

This letter is in response to BBB complaint case #******** Rev ** regarding ******************** concerns about the Ferman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram of New Port Richey for the diagnosis on RO ********.
Expansion on the previous dialogue regarding this case, we did some more investigating into the accusations. As we have previously stated we had no fuel coming from the lift pump while the truck was in our possession, the technicians notes are on the previously attached repair order. We recommended a lift pump to start. It has been discovered by contacting ************  that the truck was taken back to them when it left Ferman CJDR of NPR. While at Petes Towing they warrantied out the lift pump that we diagnosed, which they verified. Once they had pressure it still did not run they replaced a TIPM and PCM that the guest brought in and supplied according to **** from ************.
This goes back to the original statement, we would not be able to diagnose a failed high pressure pump without fuel from a functioning low pressure pump. If we had low pressure fuel we could have determined a failed high pressure pump, and ultimately fixed the truck. We were not authorized to move forward with repairs and the truck was removed from our shop.

Invoice from Petes towing please see warranty note stating bench tested fuel pump and was working, I brought my truck into Ferman asking for a diag of the high pressure pump because I confirmed it was bad with Petes towing and told the service writer I would like a diag of the high pressure fuel system because of the recall, you failed to do that, sun coast dodge did the recall as the previous invoice stated, my truck was not running because of this cp3 pump was not operational and I told the service writer thats what I wanted looked at.

Upon arrival at the dealer vehicle was presented to writer by a salesperson and discovered to be filthy and the front bumper had been damaged on both sides. When its was pointed out to the salesperson there was a scramble to speak with managers at the dealership about the damaged vehicle.A manager responded and advised that if we purchased the vehicle the damage would be prepared. The **************** ****** for their Certified Preowned Vehicles Each Jeep model has been thoroughly inspected by *************** technicians and reconditioned to look and drive like a brand new SUV.It appeared that Ferman had falsely advertised the vehicle and the managers were practicing some sort of bait and switch or deceptive and false advertising to lure me onto the dealership.Although I explained that I wanted to purchase that specific silver/black Jeep Compass the focus of the sales and management staff was to offer other vehicles or insist that I purchase the damaged vehicle before the dealership would repair although the vehicle had been offered/advertised as Jeep Certified Preowned.Follow up telephone conversations with a senior Ferman manager (***********************)didnt fare any better- the new manager insisted I purchase the vehicle before they would repair it.This vehicle was supposed to be a gift for my daughter It was falsely advertised as Jeep Certified Preowned I would like to see the vehicle repaired and offered for my purchase

Had my 2011 jeep grand cherokee towed to the service department because it didn't start. They had it for almost a week before they even looked at it and did a diagnostic. They cleaned the battery connections and said the battery was fine and charged me $200 to clean the connections. A week later, my jeep would not start. The battery is almost 6 years old and is not getting the correct voltage to start. They failed to diagnose the battery and did a temporary fix to clean the connections that kept my car running for one week.

This letter is in response to BBB complaint case #********: regarding *************************** repair/diagnosis on repair order # ******** dated 7-28-23 to 8-4-23.
In response to **************** concerns the vehicle was towed in on 7-28-23, upon inspection we were able to start the vehicle and drive it into the shop. We were unable to duplicate the guests concerns of the vehicle not starting or cranking. We did find the vehicle had no oil in the engine, recommended an engine oil cooler and both valve covers (copies attached). We made no mention of battery terminal cleaning or adjustments. The guest was only charged for diagnosis of $185.00, which was agreed too at write up.  We drove the vehicle 5 miles after we added engine oil and started it multiple times. The guest declined repairs, picked up the vehicle and drove it out. Based on the events that occurred we do not see the need for a refund in this situation as we did not actually make a repair simply diagnosed a 12-year-old vehicle with a 163K miles on it.

The dealer has had our car for 5 WEEKS! The A/C went out (2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee) on our NEW car. They keep telling me the part (condenser) is on back order...FOR 5 WEEKS? THIS IS A BRAND-NEW CAR! I opened up a complaint with 1 800 Chrysler. The attitude of the person assigned to my complaint couldn't care less, all she keeps saying is that she will "expedite" the part backorder. I want to be reimbursed for my lease payment(s) for the period of time I have been WITHOUT my car, and I want the car detailed before delivery! We have owned/leased 6 Dodge/Jeep products over the last few years, this is how a LOYAL "senior citizen" is treated?

This letter is in response to BBB complaint case #********: regarding *********************** concerns about the vehicle currently at Ferman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram of New Port Richey for repair.
In response to **************** concern,we have had the vehicle since 7-1-23, it was brought in for the A/C blowing warm. We determined that the vehicle needed an evaporator replacement, the part would need to be ordered and was unfortunately on backorder. The guest was placed in a loaner vehicle at that time at the dealerships expense and is expected to remain in the loaner until the repair is completed. We understand and sympathize with the guests frustration regarding the part availability and length of time to obtain the parts. Regarding reimbursement of the lease payment, the guest would have to seek reimbursement from Jeep directly as they have been the hold up for both of us unfortunately. We have agreed to clean the vehicle prior to returning it the guest after the repairs are completed.

R/O#******** my car was dropped off via tow to be looked at due to the car not shifting into any gears. **************** let me know that the shift cable was the cause and I authorized them to fix it. He called to let me know it was done so I went to go pick it up. He showed me pricing for the labor and parts, explaining the cable was the issue and I paid for the repair, which was $744.30($170 cash,$574.30 CC). Never once did he go over any issues that arose during the repair nor did he inform me that the car was not fixed. As soon as I went to move the car into drive the shifter wouldnt go past neutral and was making a loud noise. It was obvious to me that something was wrong and that it was not safe to drive. This was after a tech pulled the car into the service bay, meaning he forced the shifter into drive to do so. When I told them, a tech sat in the front seat and tried to force it into drive. Seeing it would not shift past neutral, he repeatedly banged it, trying to force the shifter to go into drive. I told him to stop before it breaks. On 7/20/23, they call that the car needs a new shifter and that I would have to pay for the parts. Prior to this, there was no report of the shifter being broken. a thorough inspection on the shifter shouldve been done before they decided it was just the cable. Even after replacing the cable, the tech failed to correct the repair, passed it off as a hard shift and called me to come pick it up, jeopardizing any passengers safety, had I forced it into drive and left the lot as they suggested. by forcing it to go into drive, despite strong resistance, rather than checking the repair, the techs most likely broke the shifter. Neither the general manager nor service and parts advisor because I signed the repair order, besides offer free labor for a junk yard shifter that now needs to be replaced due to the service technicians carelessness. My car is still sitting in the dealership parking lot, inoperable. Contact for more info.

On December 16 I took my vehicle to Ferman Chrysler New Port Richey to verify a misfire code, they took the car and after they scan the car they told me they will need a few more days to open the manifold after a few days and keep insisting they ask me to call and tell me the head valve cylinder and other parts needed replacement. I went there paid, $4,300, for the labor and parts that they said replace, and drove to my home. That same night that I took my vehicle from Ferman New Port Richey shop and get home the car was running with barely enough coolant, was a little hot. There were leaks coming from the thermostat housing and other hoses. The water pump was loose (video and pics attached). After the holidays passes, on Jan 4, I have to call and text the Ferman shop because there was oil on the floor but my calls and text were never responded, After several attempts to contact them I decided to look under the car more carefully and see several missing bolts on the cover chain case(pic), oil coming from the head valve as well; a total negligence and danger on the street.I wanted to give them a second chance to make things right. I left the car on 1/19 and after 6 days on 1/25 they said it was fixed. To my surprise they just put 5 ********* that were missing the first time, even though I pay for new ones, and nothing else was done to the vehicle. I decided to send another email explaining to them the situation and how negligent they are and call them again but no responses or replies were made. I had just been ignored after emails, calls.

We were aware of an issue regarding the vehicle and some possible bolts loose or missing on or around 1-16-23.  We offered to bring the vehicle in and address the concerns and supplied a loaner vehicle for the guest. The list of items replaced are listed on the repair order as well as the loaner contact for proof of us placing the guest in a car to drive during the comeback. The bolts the guest is referencing on the repair order are the head bolts under the valve cover, used during the head replacement. If there is still something outstanding at this point, we are unaware and more then willing to assist in repairing if it related the repairs performed. We see no need to refund this consumer as they were supplied and still have the hard parts installed and the labor to install them. We apologize for any frustration this may have caused.

Paid for a brand new radio and ordered the part on 10/20/22. Had it installed on 11/9/2022. Was asked to pay another 200$ for labor when was already told the total for the repair. I asked for the old radio back since it is part of my Jeep and something I own. My property. They refused and said another 1,000$ to get it back. I signed no where stating that I was giving them my old radio and nothing was ever mentioned about an extra 200$. Also the radio I received was a refurbished radio and not a new one as told by their manager. So I did not get what I asked for and paid for. This dealership is a scam.

This letter is in response to BBB complaint case #: ********, regarding ******************** concerns about his vehicle Radio and related Core Charge to the radio.
On 10/20/22 RO# ******** (copy Attached) ************************* came in for a delaminating radio, we quoted a radio replacement as he attached. We require prepayment for any special order parts, he pre-paid $929.88 plus tax for the radio on 10/21/22. It is noted below that on his copy Guest will Pre-Pay for radio and will have labor of $201.03 on day of install of radio..
On 11-9-22 we installed the radio part # Z8283240AK as billed on repair order #******** and charged the remaining $201.03 as previously documented. The actual repair cost of the repair total charge to the guest was $1,130.91 plus tax, we charged him less then quoted. ****** asked for the old radio back after paying for his repair and at this time we informed him that there is a $1000.00 core charge on the Radio. He states that we never disclosed the core charge prior to the repairs, we informed him that normally the core is not discussed because we return the old part as we do the repair. We offered to remove the new radio and install the old radio at no charge for the guest and refund the money. We did inform him that it would take 30 minutes to an hour to perform, and we would need to do it prior to the vehicle leaving. Once the vehicle leaves with the radio and the guest uses it (programs stations, phones, etc) we can not pull it back out. The guest then walked out threatening our service director.

I am rejecting this response because:

Please reopen my complaint for Ferman Jeep, this response is not satisfactory. They admitted that they did not discuss the core charge and I was being charged for a refurbished part to be installed. That was not discussed or in any contract I signed. They then still took my property and refused to return to me my old part. That part is still my property I have paid for it with the original cost of the vehicle. They admitted this was not discussed. In no way was anyone threatened that is a false statement. This is why Im filing a complaint against this business.

      Sincerely,

      Good Afternoon,

      In Response to **************** Rejection,

As previously stated in the last Response We offered to remove the new radio and install the old radio at no charge for the guest and refund the money. We did inform him that it would take 30 minutes to an hour to perform, and we would need to do it prior to the vehicle leaving. Once the vehicle leaves with the radio and the guest uses it (programs stations, phones, etc) we cannot pull it back out. At that time the guest declined and left with the vehicle.

      Complaint: 18379369

I am rejecting this response because:

Ferman dealership needs to return to me my property being my old ORIGINAL radio that was in the vehicle originally. I paid for that radio as part of the vehicle and when I purchased it. Your contract says no where about a core charge and I would not get my ORIGINAL radio back.

Lets not forget the fact that your dealership is sold to me a REFURBISHED radio when what I was told would be brand new. Another lie and scam.

I in no way am requesting you pull out the REFURBISHED radio. Again I am asking for my ORIGINAL radio to be returned to me and not charging any extra money Core Charge for again my property.

      Thank you

      Sincerely,

On September 23 I had my Chrysler 200 LT towed to Ferman chrysler for a new PCM which was covered under warranty from the previous year. My car is being held hostage by Ferman until I pay $2250 which is extremely higher than other places for a warranty part and also a replacement of a ****. I want to take my car via tow else here for the **** since their prices are extremely higher than others. I was called by ***** in service who said they are cancelling my Warranty part if I wont have the **** done there as well. All I want is my warranty part replaced and the ability to take my car elsewhere to get the rest of the service repairs. I brought it in from another garage with it already being diagnosed and feel as if I should have to pay the diagnostic fee as well.

This letter is in response to BBB complaint case #: ********, regarding ************************* concerns about her vehicle currently at Ferman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram of New Port Richey for repair.
On 10-24-22 *************************** called and spoke to ******************************* regarding her concerns of the **** and ***********. We explained that **** has failed causing the *** to fail, while the *** is currently under a parts warranty the **** is not as it is cause of failure of the ***. During the conversation we offered the part number 68235271AA to the guest, show that list price is $1670.00 for the part alone and that we had offered it to ******** for $1585.00. After we explained it again ******** does understand that we do have to replace the **** to be able to replace the *** so that it does not fail as soon as it is replaced. We did come to terms and ******** approved the repair at $2130.00 with tax.

My wife was advised to take her 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle (VIN: *****************) from a tire store after having a 4 tires replaced and the front passenger side wheel had a cross threaded security lug nut and tire dealer could not remove lug nut. My wife then took the vehicle into Ferman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of New Port Richey to have the service department remove the wheel and install new tire on wheel. She waited 6hrs and was billed for $466.85 on June 1, 2022. My complaint is that it does not take 5 to 6 hrs to remove a lug nut which was white cast metal and lug stud is #8 hard steel and all it would take is to heat the white metal nut against #8 steel and would split in 10 minutes and protect the wheel with heat absorb compound and not 6hrs and charged me for that flat rate. While removing lug nut the stud was damaged and they had to order a new stud to replace it and that was included in the price. As of today the new stud has not been installed and had called and spoke to several service representatives and the lug stud has not come in and I could order one online at any Mopar site and have it delivered in 3 days. I would like 50% of the charge credit back to my credit card.
