  In late fall 2023 and into winter/spring 2024, we hired a general contractor to do an assortment of renovation work, including two bathrooms.In March, it was noticed paint was peeling along the baseboard. My mother reached out to the contractor, who said it was likely shower water splashing onto the paint. We somewhat dismissed it and moved on.Additionally, my father showed him a spot along the exterior wall, parallel to the shower, that had some algae growth. The contractor said his work was dry.In July, the spot along the exterior had grown, and we had leak detection inspect. Leak detection determined the shower faceplate had not been sealed, causing a leak behind the shower wall, and mold growth (causing the peeling paint and the algae growth).I reached out to the contractor July 11. He told me his company was insured until its dissolution, making it sound like the company dissolved when he took a job with a company in ********. Florida Sunbiz paperwork shows he submitted to voluntarily dissolve on July 11, the same day I reached out.His work was under one-year warranty. He has not offered up insurance information or followed up in the days since July 11.
