On January 19th I got in contact with Driscoll Engineering because I was in escrow on a house & the house inspectors suggested we contact this company to let us know if the foundation is in safe condition. We had an appointment for January 20th at 3pm. We paid $400 for a written report after his inspection & for him to take measurements & notes of the damage & anything he saw that concerned him. They even had us pay the $400 on the 19th before the inspection even took place which is odd for inspections in my experience & no one never emailed me an invoice or receipt. Once he came to the house (which had a very accessible crawl space) we were telling him that there had been foundation work done in the past from the current owners of the house & he kept telling us he couldn’t tell us much if he didn’t know what work they did & if they didn’t have paperwork. All we wanted was for him to look at what was visible & let us know if anything was concerning. Once we finally got him to get in the crawl space he stood at the entrance & looked around for a minute & said everything looked good. That was until my boyfriend point out a huge gash in the concrete, leaning pillars, & other cracks. That’s when he said oh wow that definitely needs to be fixed & so forth. Never did he take measurements or even actually look around into the crawl space. While he was there we were even talking about the report that we’d be receiving from him. A couple days go by & he’s not answering my realtors emails or messages on the report & extra info he wanted on the previous foundation work done, which my realtor had to work to get. I called their office & told the desk person the situation & she told us that he didnt know we wanted a report & that he’d been to the house before & didn’t need to take measurements & that he was working on the report. 3 weeks later we haven’t received anything back from anyone.Business response
