On August 27th, 2024 I called Lapin Services via phone to schedule an appointment to help locate a septic tank at a property where I represent the seller. The tank location could not be found by the buyers inspection company, so we needed to have it located. I contacted them and they said it would be $185.00 service call fee to go out and locate the tank and that they would need a credit card on file to cover the service fee. They said their tech would locate the tank, and if they had any further recommendations they would call me while on site to obtain approval. I provided my credit card over the phone to cover the $185.00 charge. The next day I never received a phone call or text for any additional approval. I only received an automated text message stating that the technician was in route, and a text later on asking for a review. I called their office to inquire about what had occurred during the visit as no one had contacted me while on-site as promised for any additional details or approvals. The representative said they pumped out the septic tank for $395.00 and also charged an additional $200.00 for "extra solids". I explained to the representative that I had only ordered and authorized for them to locate and flag the location of the tank for $185.00 and had not approved anything further. I asked to speak with a manager/supervisor to see what could be done, but was told nobody was available. This company has unethically and illegally charged my credit card for $410.00 more than was authorized. I have emailed and called several times and continue to be told the manager is not available.Customer response

I was finally able to reach this company and they have refunded the difference as requested. You can close out this case. Thank you.
