Six years ago, in August 2016, I entered into an agreement with GM Law Firm, LLC. The agreement was they would help me reduce my combined credit card debt in exchange for $12,500 (28 months paying $528.01 per month). A person named Brandon R*** advised me that they would initiate contact with my 3 credit card companies and advise them that I would stop payment and they would take over any communications. (Obviously this seems like a very bad plan to me now.) For my part, I signed and had notarized a "Limited Power of Attorney" to them (attached). They instructed me to call the assistant Tyeesha M****, each week with an update of who was contacting me, telling me to ignore any letters or calls from my credit card companies. Of course all 3 started sending letters and calling after my account was 20 days overdue. Eventually all of the accounts were closed by the CC companies and my accounts showed delinquent, and still do, totally ruining my credit score. The GM Law Firm and I were in very close contact for 5 years, especially when I tried to buy a house. I needed letters and proof that I was working with them to prove I wasn't a risk in borrowing more money. They were happy to explain that they were working with all 3 of the companies to cancel all of my debt and put my accounts into the 'clear' zone instead of 'delinquent'. I was able to buy a house but had to purchase Mortgage Insurance since it appeared I was high-risk. After paying off the $12,500 and last talking to a few different of the assistants, Shawn M***** was one of them, they stopped responding back in 2019. Also, their address shows up on my credit report as one of MY properties and I have to explain that is NOT my property. I began trying to contact them again a few months ago in 2022 as I'm ready to buy a new home and my credit score is still poor. Their emails bounce back, voicemail is not returned and their "contact me" part of the website goes nowhere. They did not do what they promised.
