I sent my modulus 3A preamplifier to Audible Illusions to be repaired on 12/6/2022 with a $98 check for a diagnostic fee. It was deliver to their address 12/10/2022, I called to make sure it had arrived and was told by Jerry they had received it. I called a week later to find out what the problem was and could it be fixed. I was told the volume controls would have to be replaced. I was also asked to send $500 to start the repair. I sent on 12/19/2022 a Discover credit card payment for said amount. I called two weeks later to see how the repair was coming and was told additional repairs would have to be made as well. In January I called to see how repair was coming and was told they were making progress and offered to send me photos, I received no photos. I waited two weeks and checked on progress again being told they have taken all usable parts off the circuit board and were making progress. I called again on 2/9/2022 and was told they were at the same junction of repair as before, I advised Jerry this is what I was told two weeks ago. I then asked if I could have a date the unit would be repaired by and told that was not possible. I also asked for a estimate for the cost of the repair and was told by Jerry he could not make a estimate. He said he would send photos of progress, which again never arrived. I have never heard of anyone who could not make a estimate for repair or service performed for anything from a professional. They already have $598.00 dollars from me plus the unit had $325.00 of tubes that were purchased from them 7/2022 but not installed till 11/2022. So far, I have $923.00 into this unit and don't know if I will ever receive it and at what cost to me!Initial Complaint

I order a piece of audio equipment from Audible Illusions in July, 2021. I made final payment on 8/16/2021 when the owner Art Ferris told me he would ship the product "by the end of the week." Month after month went by but he never sent the item. He kept telling me "by the end of the month." Finally in January, 2022 I decided that I didn't want to deal with him any more so I told him I want a refund. He refused and claimed that he doesn't have any money to refund.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/01/28) */ See attachment: Dear Ms Sanchez, Today I received your email regarding Mr.Jordan ***** who cancelled his Order with me this January 10. Unfortunately he became very upset when l could not immediately refund his $3800 payment. Needless to say I regret not being able to deliver the preamplier he ordered last July. I did have his new preamp on-line and thought I had the necessary parts available to complete his order. I was now in an embarrassingsituetion and furthermore l failed to immediately communicate this to Mr.*****. He had every right to be upset. i do hope he will accept my sincere apology. Three days later on January 13 I then contacted Mr ***** that l refunded payment to his credit card in full,. Attached is the receipt. Consumer Response /* (2000, 10, 2022/01/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Mr. ****** did indeed refund my money after a short delay. He also apologized and I appreciate both the refund and the apology. I would only make one suggestion. Audible Illusions should be a bit more forthright about how long it may take to fulfill an order. I suspect customers will be more patient if they know from the start what they may getting themselves into. Again, thank you for the refund and the apology.
