We hired Coastal FL Movers LLC to move us in early July and it was a HORRIBLE experience. The crew of 3 slammed each of our furniture items and boxes up a metal ramp into the truck to load and for the unloading and BROKE and DINTED several pieces of furniture, the NEW 3-door refrigerator, broke the deli door inside, and broke a few glass items we had well packed and padded. It was a miracle more items were not damaged by the way these buys thrusted and shoved the items. None of the boxes or furniture items were inventoried or tagged by this mover. For the items we requested to file a claim on, there was no real process to do so. The owner told me they pay out of pocked and didn't like to use insurance. No form to fill out which was a red flag! A few times within a week, I sent him pictures of the damaged items & gave them the serial numbers and models numbers and continued to try and communicate via text and email. He totally ignored me after I sent the requested information. We proposed just give us $500 to settle and still no response. THIS IS A SCAM AND THEY WILL BREAK YOUR STUFF. I am deeply disappointed, I should've taken for granted the reviews before proceeding with them.The representative over the phone assured me that a key wasn't necessary as the pick-up crew would have cut the lock themselves with their professional equipment. I couldn't go to the storage unit, so I trusted his word, as I even offered to send the key but they told me it was not necessary. Everything would have been taken care of.I receive a call from another Coastal Movers representative (whom was stating I was yelling at her, when I was not, which was even odd to say that to a client when it's not true) denying all that and it was my responsibility to call and pay for a locksmith. However I did initially offer to send the key to our storage in ********** from *******, but I was told that it was not necessary. Too bad they lost my business.Coastal FL Movers LLC Response

Hi, my name is ****** and I am the owner of Coastal Florida Movers. Our number is ************. There is a broker that is a scam called coastal movers that has a 561 area code number. I double checked and we never received any correspondence from you. Unfortunately all of our bad reviews have stemmed from this dishonest moving broker down south.Review from Michael D

I received pricing from Coastal to move my home good from ************* to *****. ***** the gentleman from Coastal gave me a price of $6,100 to move my home goods. I figured it would change slightly as things when packing change and the price would go up. When they came to the house for pick up I was told that it would be about $1000 more do to the amount of home goods. I was ok with this at this point I have no choice and need my belongings in *****. After they loaded the home goods into the truck I was told that there was even more than that had thought and now the price is up $9,500 total. This is totally a bait and switch set up. I am thinking I may not pay for this and they can keep the goods and I will buy new goods. They also recommend a company that moves vehicles and I had my car transported as well and the day before pick I was told the price is another $600. Another bait and switch when you don't have time to find another company to do this for you. Scammers with a business license.Review from Brenda M.

I've done business with Coastal Florida Movers the last move went well this move on August 31 2022 was the worst move Coastal Movers did for me I was to be move at 8:30 Justin call to move Mt move to 12:30 due to a move that was laid over on the day I was suppose to move so I said ok I wasn't moved until 3:00 I ask Justin would this be tajen of my bill Justin said it would I had my cousin their to help move me which was only large item I had move the other thing already Justin Said it would be okay for them to be there when the guts arrived the min guy began to complain that Justin said it would be only 10 items which was a lie from Justin the owner it was already late they took their time and said my cousin couldn't help at least carry thing to the truck I called Justin he said he would be there in 20 minutes when he arrive he began fastly putting things on the truck I ask him will my bill be lower since it was a 8 hours from the time he began to move me Justin said he would after the estimate was for $450 I gave him $300 because of the time Justin wasn't going to take $300 he wanted the full amount he was nasty told the guys to put the things back on the truck I said go ahead he said he would take me to court then Justin call the police my cousin paid the remaining balance which I know he didn't deserve by time the police hot there it was resolved I want the $150 return and a apology on what they did to me I wrote a review and reporting them to you please help me I wasn't expecting a move like this Thanks fir your help.Coastal FL Movers LLC Response

We had an estimate of $450 which the customer agreed to. There was nothing packed, and also mentioned her cousin helping us as there was more than expected. The bill originally was $682.50, based upon how long it took hourly. I honored my original estimate of $450. The customer refused to pay $450, and only would pay $300, after we had an agreed upon estimate prior to coming out to the residence.Customer Response

OMGoodness what a liar. I can show the original estimate was $450 not $682, $450 was an estimate. I only had large items that couldn't be wrap would have taken an hour to load with my cousin's help. Justin said that was okay his helper said it was not. As I stated in my first comment they were late from 8:30a from 12:30p didn't get to my destination until 3:00 I have no reason to lie. I ask Justin he would be adjusting my amount he said he would when we got to the location he became very rude as I stated in my previous comment he wanted to put my things back on the truck he change it to taking me to court my cousin settled it by paying $150 to Justin adding to the $300 totaling $450 the estimate price that's why I I gave him $300 because of lack of service on Justin part on what he promised & didn't follow through. If you need me to show proof of my estimate please let me know. Justin never mentioned anything about $682 Justin estimate was $450 plus I had moved all the other items to the location except the large items.Coastal FL Movers LLC Response

Mam, I only charged you for 2 men. We had 3 men out there, and lowered our rate $65 an hour to satisfy the estimate of $450 I promised it wouldn't exceed. Please provide the original estimate before the move to confirm my response. $300 was never mentioned until it came time to the bill. We moved you before. And therefore I wasn't going to argue and charge more. It clearly was an hourly job as agreed upon, while taking $65 an hour off. We took nearly 40% off the bill because we had 70 plus additional boxes than expected that raised the time by nearly an hour and a half. You're cousin brought less than 10 items the entire duration. I personally came out to expedite the move, without charging, and charging $230 less (nearly 40%) to satisfy my original estimate. I brought the police due to a police report to be filed because we were fully taken advantage of.Customer Response

Justin you a liar. You main man told my cousin he couldn't move anything because if something got broken or damaged your company would be responsible That's why my cousin stopped. Justin you were 8hrs late. I understood your situation being late at12n but when you were late 8hrs you didn't take how I felt under consideration under at all. Justin all you wanted was your money. I've told what really happened with your company and it's the truth.
