  I need my roof replaced due to hurricane ******** was approach approached by a sales from famous roofing. I set up an appointment to have an estimate done. The sales representative and project manager at the time said I was funded enough through my insurance to go ahead with the project. They asked for ****** down payment up front to order materials as it can take up to 8 weeks to acquire which I provide a check for. A short time after I am notified that the team I was working with is no longer employed by famous roofing so the owner is taking over the task of my project moving forward. They advise me I would need a supplement payment from insurance company and they will contact my insurance company to get required funding to proceed. Now weeks have passed and no materials have been ordered and my insurance did not approved supplemental funding. I start getting a bad feeling and decide I want to withdraw from using this company and have received other quotes from roofing companies that fall between my insurance budget. I asked to release my deposit as no work as been done nor materials ordered. Famous Roofing is deducting commissions paid to sales rep and project manager from my material deposit to a project that has no at all been executed. There is no contract binding me to such penalties. I understand I may be responsible for a permit fee and NOC fee and agreed to settle at those cost. I was provided an invoice of ***** to be deducted from the ****** I proved as a down payment for materials. which to me doesnt seem or feel right. I need to know where I stand and what I am liable to be charged so I can move forward with this amicably. I also want to make other people aware of such fraud and scam if such is determined. Hurricane season is approaching and I am no where close with getting a new roof with this company. Which lead me to getting other quotes from new companies whom I fall within insurance funding and can start the project asap.
