      Account blocked for no reason as they knew I was changing addresses in a close time.Have been a member since 1999- explained handicap- no car - need card for ***** needed to eat and get my meds - the bank did nothing other than force me to go to a bank.

      So tropical financial credit union is trying to destroy my credit and put me in repossession over a clerical error that a gieco agent made removing full coverage from my vehicle without my knowledge or consent but because I went paperless and not checking the email in which they removed full coverage from my vehicle and placed upon my son's vehicle in which tropical financial credit union had added forced placed insurance on my vehicle without my knowledge for a few months later when they contacted me saying I was behind on my payments in which I was not I was just behind on the forced placed insurance payments that I wasn't aware of and so I've been trying to resolve the issue with tropical financial credit union but keep getting the run around with the management not calling me back and every time I talk with someone they just keep saying they will have a manager contact me when they are available which has been over a week now of calling every day leaving numerous messages just trying to get the issue resolved in which I stated I will pay the outstanding balance over this clerical error and just apply it to the end of my loan and it will get paid I've never missed nor have I been late with my payments and If it wasn't over budget I would pay it now but it is an unexpected bill that puts me over budget so just to continue doing business and to remove the missed payments from my credit report I mean I'm being victimized by a big corporation over a mere clerical error that should've never escalated to this level but I'm a father of 4 and not every email gets checked right away but I'm just trying to fix this!!!!

      We spoke with ****************** the day after he posted this review.  We were able to assist him with his concerns.  We also shared with him that we would assist him with the issues related to the credit bureau.  As this customer indicated, the initial error did not occur with our credit union, it started with his insurance company.  After assisting him, we did explain that it would take approximately 30 days for the credit agents to update his credit file.  ****************** seemed satisfied with how we followed up with him to resolve his concern.   Thank you, Tropical Financial

      I was a member of TFCU for probably over 15 years. I have had a checking, savings, credit card, personal loan, and auto loan with them. Throughout time, my checking was closed and the others were paid off. My remaining accounts were closed today. I ran into a rough patch and maxed out a credit card about 6/7 years ago. I admit it was bad and I paid off the balance over 5 years ago. I contacted them twice after paying it off to inquire about reestablishing the account. After the card expired, they kept the replacement card. They even sent me a letter telling me that they would not be providing me with the replacement. The accounts remained open. I reached out yesterday again. It has now been over 5 years. I was told that all of my accounts would need to be closed since I wasn't interested in applying for a new card. I was forced to close my accounts. At one point I loved TFCU and I am truly disappointed. As long as you stay in good standing, you will likely be fine. But if things change, be prepared that they are not willing to help when/if you need it.

      *********, we are sorry about your recent issue with Tropical.  As you know, we are a state chartered Credit Union.  In order to have any type of account, loan or ********************** card with us, it does require a membership.  Unlike a bank, we cannot issue a credit card "only".    This means that if you have a credit card (or loan), it still requires a membership account.  

      If your credit card account was closed, or there were issues related to the card, then our bylaws require us to terminate the relationship.  We are sorry for this inconvenience.
