Being a property owner, we rely heavily on our property manager to find reliable contractors that will fully complete a job as expected. We requested mulch to be removed from the front of the house lining our patio and walkway and in our rock bed which was placed by our prior tenants without us knowing. We also requested rock surrounding our back patio to be transferred to the front of the house all for $400. What we got was mulch flung throughout our front lawn and about five sprinkler heads covered by the new sod. This led to our current tenant having to cut the sod allowing the sprinkler heads to become useful again. The rocks in the back of the house were also not touched. When the property manager told the company of the issue, they reluctantly came out again, were very rude to the tenant, and picked up additional mulch while replacing some sprinkler heads but left the rocks in the back of the house alone again. Even after the second visit, one section of the sod was laid over mulch which led to that portion of the lawn becoming dormant. This all led to the tenant having to do additional work to get the lawn back in shape. My wife told our property manager of the issues and recommend they find new contractors. They are only getting a one star since that is the lowest we can give.Review from Cheryl W

He will quote you one price and when the job is complete, double the price. Beware of him and get his quote in writing. This company came and gave me a quote of $300 on 2/8/22 to remove a tree in my yard. He completed the job and went up to $600. I wrote him with my concerns and he has not responded. DO NOT DO BUSINESS unless you get the price in writing. He than lied and told the referral person that we agreed on $600. He did remove the tree and clean up afterward.

Good morning. Phoung sent you to give me a w A quote on cutting down a tree. He said he would give me a good deal. You charge me $600 which you told me it was going to be $300 to take down a tree. And $300 to grind up to stump. You overcharge me for taking down the tree. I was gonna let it go but that just kept bothering me. I actually had gotten a better quote from somebody else for cutting down the tree and I got a military discount on top of that. So actually I was going to end up paying like $500 instead of the 600 you charge me. And I would have went with that other company.
The customer in question, paid for our services upon completion 600 amount quoted and was extremely happy with our quality of work.. Upon receipt of payment customer did not mention any misunderstanding of price..Customer Response

Again, I say, your original quote was $300 and you know it. But I will not be doing business with you again. I always ask the price because I know sometimes contractors run into unexpected situations and the price changes. I have been dealing with contractors enough and all the tree companies that I have used didn't increase the price without informing me.Pentons Lawn Care Services Response

I did quote you 600.00 for tree removal, then I explained if you wanted stump grind it would be an additional 300.00. Your reply was ( why so high... I explained that the cost to rent a stump grinder is around 250.00) you were like ohh ok.. then I said wait I know a guy, I'll try to get in contact with him and see if we can get you a better price.. Once we completed the job you asked how much do I owe you.. I said 600.00. At that time you mentioned no Discrepancy in price.. I apologize if there was a misunderstanding.
