THIS COMPLAINT IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY SPURIOUS. THE CUSTOMER ADMITTED THAT HIS ROOF WARRANTY PERIOD HAD EXPIRED OVER 3 YEARS AGO IN HIS LETTER TO THE BBB. WE ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT LEGALLY BOUND TO ADDRESS ISSUES OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY PERIODS. I AM SURPRISED THAT YOU EVEN ACCEPTED THE COMPLAINT BASED ON THIS FACT.
AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL I OFFERED THE CUSTOMER $500 WORTH OF ROOF REPAIRS, SOMETHING I AM NOT LEGALLY BOUND TO DO. HE DID NOT ACCEPT. THE CUSTOMER WANTS ME TO WRITE HIM A CHECK FOR $2500 FOR REPAIRS TO HIS ROOF OUTSIDE OF HIS WARRANTY PERIOD. I WOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS VERY LONG IF I PAID OUT EVERY CUSTOMER THAT REQUESTED A CHECK FOR $2500 FOR NO VALID REASON WHATSOEVER.
I WOULD HOPE THE BBB IS ESTABLISHED TO PROTECT BUSINESS OWNERS AS WELL AS CUSTOMERS, AND WILL REPSOND ACCORDINGLY TO THIS RIDICULOUS CLAIM.
I ACTUALLY PLANNED ON JOINING THE BBB IN THE NEAR FUTURE, SO PLEASE FORWARD ME INFO AS HOW TO DO SO.

I am rejecting his response.As I noted in one of my letters to him (which I enclosed with my complaint letter), I explained to him that I recognized that he is a new owner of the business and that I would accept $500 (10% of the total cost) instead of the $2500 (50%) requested from the former owner. The total repair cost was $5,097.
I rejected his offer of one day of free service, because I have lost confidence in his team's ability to do quality work. After all, his installer introduced the latent workmanship defect (flashing void) which recently cost me the $5,097 to have corrected. I can't be fairer to him.
I find it so egregious that he misrepresented the reduced amount I was asking his for. It is unfortunate that customer satisfaction does not seem to be a priority in his ownership of this business, which further validates why I do not want his services for any future need.
