I canceled my extended warranty on my car on November 28th, 2023. My previous loan company West Lake/Western Funding said they are waiting for the dealership to send them the amount owed to me. They have reached out several times and they have yet to get a response from them. I have reached out to both owners **** and ****, both who said they would take care of it, and still havent. I have called the dealership multiple times and one time **** told me that as soon as he hung up with me he was calling to take care of it. West lake said they never received a call from him. I then called and texted **** and on March 8th he said he would look into it that following Monday, i contacted him again on the 14th and he didnt respond. I again reached out today and he hasnt responded, as well as no answer at the dealership. I just want my refund and to be able to move on this is insane, it shouldnt have take more than 45 business days.Initial Complaint

Went to MPM Automotive in 04/2023 went to look at vehicles for sale and we found one that was liked by us. We examined the vehicle and saw no rust on it at the time of viewing. The beginning of August while driving home the suspension went out, Upon reviewing under the car to research the issue I noticed the suspension was hanging together by a sway bar link only. We had the vehicle towed to MPM Automotive, they informed us that they dont have the suspension to replace the damaged suspension on my car. I was informed by 2 different repair shops and my insurance company that this car is not operable and is totaled, as it is deemed in repairable by my insurance company. The vehicle is in need of a brand new frame. MPM Automotive has offered no resolution for this issue. I have pictures of how damaged the vehicle is due to this vehicle being from ******** and ****** which was disclosed to me as I would NEVER buy a vehicle from up North as I am aware the salt on the road cause rust to vehicles. to whom it may concern, *************** and ms ********** test drove our vehicle and looked it over before purchase and then they decided to purchase it from mpm automotive sales and service /// my sales associate completed the proper paper work and had them sign it as well {see downloaded docs}. *********** hit a large speed bump at an undisclosed location and that is where the automobile was damaged. there insurance company has denied there claim for no apparent reason other than wear and tear. mpm automotive sales and service has reached out to the customers offering a repair solution for $600 PLUS TAX for the repairs that they were quoted at least double that amount. we have tried making a resolution and have not gotten any positives responses on this matter. i have personally tried to get there insurance company to re look over there claim with no avail ...here is my # ************ if you have any questions,********************* gm mpm automotive sales and sericeInitial Complaint

A $500.00 deposit was made on a vehicle via my bank card on March 14, 2022. I was told the vehicle needed to be serviced and employee **** would let me know when it would be ready. Communication from employee **** was limited at best but consequently I was told about 2 weeks later that the vehicle needed a new motor. I was given the option to continue with the purchase or to receive a refund of my deposit. I opted out of the purchase and requested return of the $500.00 deposit to which employee **** agreed. Employee **** indicated the only way to process the refund was for me to provide him with my bank card information either verbally over the phone or in person. I expressed my skepticism and discomfort with providing my card information - I also spoke with my bank and they insisted that is not a common business practice and they also discouraged me from providing the the bank card information - I requested that he refund the $500.00 by company check and mail it to my home address. *** communicated with employee **** numerous times to check the status of the refund, he consistently states the only refund method would be via my bank card. I also called and left a voicemail message with the owner **** to which I never received a response. To date I have not received the refund.The deposit of $500 was made on 3/14/2022 for a **** **** Ranger - receipt #****.I can provide a copy of the receipt and copies of text messages from employee **** supporting the above information.Business response

This response was taken verbally by BBB:
I have spoken to the consumer and offered to refund him but he refuses to come to the shop to complete the transaction. Wanted to do refund via phone, I explained would need his card number to do so but he did not wish to provide the entire number. I am still willing to refund him if he comes to the shop and we can complete this transaction.

I am rejecting this response because:My preference would be to have a company check mailed to me please.
Im also agreeable to having the deposit refunded by any means other than providing my bankcard to this business, i.e. Apple Pay, PayPal - Im not comfortable with this business having my card information, my bank also discouraged it for security reasons.

We would be willing to refund with a check but only with the understanding you would need to come to the shop and meet **** directly as he would be the person to process a check. You would need to agree to sign a waiver stating by accepting the check you will not file a credit card dispute afterward. Otherwise our original offers to refund still remain either via credit card or directly at the shop signing all necessary refund paperwork.Customer response

Considering that we are still dealing with hurricane recovery and your office is not local to me its incredibly inconvenient to drive there to sign a document, that can just as easily be taken care of electronically, and pick up a check.
My email address is ********************* and the check can be mailed to ****************************************************************** - or you can simply use this correspondence through the BBB website as verification of my agreement to not pursue any additional action.Upon receipt of a refund check in the amount of $500 this issue will be considered resolved and I will not take any further action, i.e. filing a credit card dispute.
In addition you will have the cashed check that provides proof of the refund.Sincerely,
