Changed oil, replaced transmission fluid, steering fluid, battery, tire, cost 4500. Then the coolant leaked and blew the engine after $4500 in repairs. Now has my car, wants $1100 more. Never checked the most important part of the car, cooling the engine. I think he is downright ripping me off. 0 stars. Considering calling the police or filing legal court complaint.

      12/05/2022

      Dear Sir or Madam,

First and foremost, thank you for elevating this matter to my attention as it is very important to me to
know if a customer is not happy with my service and to allow me to look into the concern and address or
correct if necessary. I solely own this facility and I personally work on every single vehicle. Therefore, it is in my best interest to ensure everything is done properly. Beside this being my profession for over 55
years, I thoroughly enjoy what I do and thus the quality of what I do is and shall be uncompromised.

I have reviewed this complaint along with all records pertaining to this customer and this specific vehicle with my Office Manager. After thorough investigation, I was unable to connect the most recent defect with any service or repair that has been addressed in any previous repairs. I would be happy to attach all invoices and repair orders as well if you are able to instruct on how to do so. I wanted to mention few things to be considered:

      1. I agree with the statement of the coolant check being one of the most important checks. This is
done on every vehicle along with all other fluids checked no matter what the repair.

      2. Like most vehicles (if not all), this vehicle is equipped with coolant level sensor, which alerts the
driver via display message if the coolant level is below the minimum requirement. At that point,
the vehicle should not be driven/operated. Not only being suggested by vehicle technicians, but
mandated by car manufacturers as it would result in significant damages/failures to the engine
and other aspects of the vehicle.

      3. By following Owners Manual and vehicle system messages, it is very much preventable to expand the scope of damages to the vehicle. Another indicator to consider is the temperature gauge. Since this vehicle has analog temperature gage, and its normal operating temperature being precisely in the middle, it is very obvious when temperature starts to climb, and more than highly recommended to immediately discontinue operating the vehicle, which is also mandated by manufacturer. During this last repair/investigation, this vehicle had all the evidence that it was overheated.

      4. The most recent defect that occurred is not something that can be forecasted. The coolant level was at the proper level prior to this incident, it does not guarantee that it will remain in that condition. Not even the manufacturer can guarantee or forecast lifespan of certain/all parts, especially at this mileage.

      5. Probably most important aspect to consider here is the age and mileage of this vehicle. With ******* miles and over 20 years of age, increased and more frequent defects are expected, even with the most durable and reliable designs.

Although the *** is the Ultimate Driving Machine, it is not the most reliable to say. However, the
owners of *** do not purchase these vehicles for reliability, instead for the maximum driving pleasure.
If the reasons for owning this type of vehicle are anything other than that, I would advise to consider
something more reliable and less complicated. But in general, anything over ******* miles is expected
      to cause some reliability issues.

Now in regards to this last repair. The customer had the car towed to my shop stating that the car
overheated and lost coolant. I performed a pressure test and found that the coolant pipes had broken. I
informed the customer and stated that I could not check the operation of the engine without having the
cooling system operational. He approved the repairs estimate of approximately $1100.00, stating to give it a try and hope all will be good. After the cooling system was repaired I tested the operation of the engine. The compression was low on all cylinders indicating engine damage from overheating. I added oil to the cylinders and started the vehicle to get to the proper temperature and continued to check. The cooling system was operating smoothly yet the compression was low showing damaged piston rings. I called the customer to explain all information. He came to the shop and I explained the damages to his car further. He asked me if I had any cars for sale in which time I offered him my personal *** X5. He left without any further decision. We never heard from him again until this complaint many weeks later.

I work very hard to keep all my customers happy and under no circumstances will I engage or allow any
risks or shortcuts. I welcome any professional and civilized comments and/or suggestions. Please feel
free to visit my facility at any time during my working hours should you have a need to speak directly to
me. I will however ask to let my Office Manager know, to ensure that I am present as I do occasionally
leave the facility for parts and other material. I will be more than happy to go over anything you wish to
see.  Otherwise, I respectfully request for this instance to be dismissed and closed.

      Best Regards,

      Borislav I.
