After less than a year my new fence from Best Made Fence began to warp and I some places come loose from the rest of the fence. A few weeks ago, I saw by fence was leaning heavily where two support beams should have been holding it in place. I made several calls and sent a few emails to Best Made Fence asking them to inspect the area that was falling. They sent a salesman to look at my fence. He examined it and said it is likely the post is rotten. Then he grabbed my fence and shook it violently until we both heard a snapping noise. He said see, it was a rotting piece of wood. Now for sure I have a broken part to my fence. I said I would accept them placing a new beam in front of the fence rather than having to take the fence apart. He said a crew could be sent out for a service charge and material fee. I argued that the material was the problem and he should do it for no cost. He said that the fence only had a warrantee for 30 days. Then went on to say fences only last 5-7 years. I said this was only two years old and the fence is falling apart. I then told him I would report this to the BBB. He said fine, I will let the owner know. I have family members who live two blocks away who bought a fence around the same time as I did who do not have the issues that I am experiencing with my fence from this company. Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/06/03) */ Best Made completed the installation of this wood fence on 6/23/2020, a few days short of 2 years. There is no warranty on wood fencing due to natural circumstances of a natural product, however, out of courtesy Best Made sent their original sales consultant out to the customers home to evaluate the issue. The sales consultant informed the customer that he had never treated the wood and explained that the fence had a broken post, he shook the fence enough to show that the post was loose/broken and informed him that it seemed a strong force of wind came through (an act of God) and caused damage to the fence post which caused the fence to lean. Due to our 30 day warranty on workmanship and hardware and no warranty on wood, Best Made agreed to send a crew to repair the customers issue for a minimum service fee plus parts and/or materials. Best Made does not agree to repair or replace anything for no cost to the customer, a minimum service fee would apply.
